DO NOT buy this printer!

I bought two of these printers, one for home and one for work. I've been using them for several months with regular inks purchased online from Revain with no problems. All cartridges work perfectly. Apparently HP updated the drivers and miraculously BOTH printers gave me the SAME error message about the cartridges being bad, THE SAME DAY. These are print cartridges that ensure perfect paper printing for several weeks. I have replaced all the ink cartridges in a printer with new generic ones and

We love this printer

. It's been years since we didn't even have a printer. We now have children and we have found that we need one more and one more. I feel like you get a lot for the price of the printer. The quality is good and we've never had any problems with it. We print wirelessly from Android phones, my wife's Mac Air, and my Windows work laptop. I suspect the price is low because they want you to buy their ink, but to be honest we buy inks from other manufacturers at a pretty low price and they work just…

AVOID THE 8610 MULTIFUNCTIONAL PRINTER!

WARNING. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! It is well documented on the web that HP intentionally changes the firmware and/or sends an automatic update to your printer that will prompt you with "DAMAGED INK CARTRIDGES, REPLACE WITH A NEW CARTRIDGE". It happens okay. one year after using 3rd party cartridges/customer service. Cheaper cartridges work well for a short time and then BOOM, your printer won't print. From what I've read there are many 8610 owners who have tried to buy/install original HP…

This printer will be the last HP product I will ever buy!

This printer was working fine until recently I started getting notifications of damaged cartridges and it refused to accept the non-genuine and refilled cartridges which I have used successfully for the past 3 years. An internet search revealed that in 2016 HP implemented a firmware "fix" that caused all ink cartridges other than the expensive ones to not work in the printer. Interestingly, the problem on my machine only started 3 weeks ago (weird, maybe it's an HP trojan?). After spending…

I'm really disappointed with this printer

I'm really disappointed with this printer but I've been evaluating it for too long so I can't return it now. I come from a similar, older Canon model (Pixma MX860). Compared to Canon. Here's what I don't like: 1. I find PDF scans very faint and blurry (compared to the quality of my previous scanner) - this is unfortunate as I scan documents far more often than I print them. The maximum resolution when scanning a PDF file is 300 ppi (pixels per inch). If you want to scan with a higher…

  • There are nuances

When my old OfficeJet 1410 died and my Canon MG5400 stopped communicating with my Chrome OS computers, I looked for a decent replacement. I was happy with the 1410 and knew HP had an app that would allow my Chromebox to bypass the cloud and print to the 1410 via the printer's USB port. The feedback on the HP 8610 is mostly positive. As some have noted, it's large but light enough to move around without risk of hernia. I was surprised that it's as big as the OfficeJet 1410 it replaces. I am one…
