Can't find a bucket it fits

Probably a good lid if you know what bucket it fits in and have a factory press handy. Tried this lid on 3 different buckets, 2 from big stores, one from Ace. Neither of them would have latched on easily, even with the coaxing of a dead percussion hammer. I ended up somehow getting it onto one of the large buckets using massive woodworking clamps that crushed the bucket before the lid snapped shut. He's there, but I don't trust him at all and maybe one day I'll pick him up.

Tight enough to stay in place even if it falls off a bit!

This lid is _very_ tight which is a feature as I use it for my corn syrup bucket in the kitchen and the risk of the lid breaking if dropped is a big concern for me. This lid doesn't come on without *a rubber mallet* and most reviews complaining about it being too tight are probably using the wrong tool. Carpenter's hammers don't work because they hit too hard and their striking face is too small (essentially an impedance mismatch problem).

Pros
  • Lid
Cons
  • Some little things

Too tight and difficult to remove!

I had a Sherwin Williams 5 gallon paint can (I don't know why every 5 gallon paint can comes without a spout) I couldn't install them without a rubber mallet once I put it on I was able to pour the paint but it flowed out very slowly. When I needed a lid for another 5 gallon bucket of paint I had to use a tool to remove the lid and it was actually very difficult to remove. I had a 5 gallon bullseye primer that came with a cap which I unscrewed (to remove) and used a screw on the spout, it was…
