Ingersoll Rand 314A 7 Inch Pneumatic Polisher Review

I used it for sanding the car before painting (and some body work). It worked like a champ! It uses quite a bit of air, but if you're using finer grit sandpaper you won't need all the power, so just reduce the air supply a bit with the built in valve and it'll use a lot less air and still get the job done.

I do some auto restoration work and have brought a couple of similar DA grinders from family and friends to make sure this type of grinder suits my needs. After some research I decided on this grinder. So far it has performed very well and has been a lot quieter than other brands I have tested. It wasn't the cheapest, but you could definitely spend more on other brands. Finally, it's great value for money.

The IR 311A DA grinder arrived overnight and was great. The top of the pillow was slightly slanted; the pillow would not settle and swayed. (This stud issue was reported in the reviews.) A call to IR customer service resulted in an immediate response and IR shipped a new last. I bought a Neiko pad through Revain to avoid delays; The IR part came in a week. I am happy with the tool. IR delivers in its price range. Customer support was excellent. I go for five stars on this one.
