With $8 and some time invested, they can be pretty good rails

ordered 2 for my 3d printer. one barely moved at all, even when vertical. the other moved and would stick in the middle then move again if you shook it. I was less than enthused.the consensus across the internet was "you get what you pay for" and "cheap Chinese rails wont ever work". still, I didn't want to just give up and return them without trying to see if I could fix them. I tried spraying them with liquid wrench spray lubrication, it helped very very little. I watched a video where…

Pros
  • Rail Guide Surface technology: Oxidation prevention by electroplating (chromium plating)
Cons
  • Difficult to install

If you don't care about consistency in the preload, these are going to be good. Unfortunately, I was using these to improve bed slop on my ReDuplicator MK3x, which introduced enough slop on one of the rails that I didn't notice in time to return.I tried to replace the bearings with G25 to ensure consistent ball diameter, and it became more apparent how inconsistently the blocks are machined. One block has really great travel, another is good, and the other is terribly grindy. If I were to look…

Pros
  • Suggested to use M3 T nut and screws if you fix it to 20 series EU Al-profile
Cons
  • May cause printer malfunctions

Nearly perfect - my new review

Bought twice in two weeks (misread description) and one set needs little lubrication. The second set that just arrived slide PERFECTLY. This is for a 3D printer that, due to out of town work, has been a two year project. This product has been a great kick for not only inspiration to complete the project, but also confidence in tightening up my X axis troubles. Some MGN12 may need some cleaning and lubing out the gate, but I can confirm some are perfect as is. I still plan on cleaning and lubing…

Pros
  • Rail Guide Length: 400mm (15.74"). Rail Guide Material: bearing steel
Cons
  • Instructions are unclear

Worth the $$ if you prep them correctly

I have torn my primary 3D printer down to replace the rails. These are not the cheapest rails available but they are certainly economical. They are very rough and packed with shipping grease from the factory. At first I thought they would be unusable.Begin by spraying the entire rail and block assy with Brake Cleaner. This will get most of the gunk off. Then remove one of the red retainer buttons, hold the rail upside down, and over a towel or thick rag, carefully slide the Carriage Block off…

Pros
  • Improved durability for long-lasting use
Cons
  • May cause backlash issues

Great Value good for me

Very nice linear slide. Does not move as smoothly as much more expensive slide.I purchased this to make a wood working jig -- so precision is way overkill. But it is inexpensie and does the trick.

Pros
  • Was great quality I just happened to order one 50mm short.
Cons
  • 3 out of the 4 carriers are smooth after a good cleaning. The last one sticks no matter what you do.

So tired of returning these rails.

I ordered a total of 4 rails from this vendor, so far I've inspected 3 and out of 3, One of them is completely unusable, first it appears to be short a few ball bearings and The cart is extremely rough when moved by hand, the cart also won't fall under its own weight.Upon closer inspection I can see what appears to be rust in the bolt holes and the carriage or cart looks discolored as does the rail.I don't understand why the carriage appears discolored it's almost as though there's corrosion on

Pros
  • Perfect for advanced projects and professional use
Cons
  • May reduce printer speed

Ive been through my fair share of shoddy rails and I got this expecting to do the usual. degrease it, clean it, and even replace the bearings with good ones. To my surprise after just cleaning it all down, soaking the block in alcohol and then drying everything off, once I oiled it up and put it on my ender 3 y axis, SMOOTH as butter. No vibrating at high speeds like all the others ive tried. 10/10 cannot recommend these enough. Didnt even have to replace the bearings! I got this to replace one

Pros
  • Enhances overall efficiency for maximum productivity
Cons
  • May void warranty of printer

Need to clean and re-oil

I purchased one of these for my X axis on my 3D printer. After thoroughly cleaning out the shipping grease with WD-40, and re-oiling with some bearing oil, the carriage block slides effortlessly and smoothly. for the price, it's worth it if you do the "tune up" procedure.

Pros
  • Features built-in lubrication for optimal performance
Cons
  • May cause electrical issues

Clean, clean, clean

You will need to fully disassemble and clean. The ball bearings are very small and easy to loose so I used a towl under work area in case I dropped anything, work well. After cleaning and oiling rail is smooth and straight.

Pros
  • Heavy-duty stainless steel construction for longevity
Cons
  • Not well-suited for fine details

Excellent. - my new review

Excellent rails. I bought 6 for a RailCore build. Each one was individually boxed and in plastic bags. There was no nasty, stinky machine oil on these like rails I have used in the past. Right from the packages all 6 moved freely under their own weight. They really don't need to be cleaned. You could oil them and put them right on your machine. I didn't measure deflection but none feel loose at all. I highly recommend these.

Pros
  • Power Transmission Products
Cons
  • Expensive

Amazing results on my review.

I been putting of this review for a bit as I was getting parts together. The rails are really good for what I'm doing with them. It helps my my printer look more robust and I don't have to tighten any V rollers anymore. I'd definitely get more of these for other printers I get later on. That being a large format printer I have in the wood works.

Pros
  • Easy to install with included hardware
Cons
  • Reduces build volume

Affordable, but needs prep to slide well

These blocks and rails are cheaper than Hiwin or Misumi, but they require some work to slide well. Mine were almost immovable out of the package, and one was missing 13 bearings on one side of the block - each side should have 33. I cleaned my rails with a dollar store scrubby brush and straight, undiluted LA's Totally Awesome concentrated cleaner/degreaser, rinsed, and dried. I completely disassembled my blocks and put all the parts in a tightly sealed jar with more undiluted Awesome, gave it…

Pros
  • Provides faster and smoother print speeds
Cons
  • May cause overheating of printhead
