Breaks easily on aquarium test kits

Two of these broke from repeated cap tightening. The minimal force needed was enough to seal them. Compared to the tubes that come with API kits, the 5mL mark is NOT accurate. I have a 5ml syringe that I use to pump water from a reservoir. When filling the API tubes, they are filled precisely to the line. Everything is different when filling these tubes as they are all different.

  • Free for educational purposes

  • Not the best

Persistent; No Leaking Aquarium Test Kits

IDK what's wrong with me but I broke all 4 tubes from my API kit. The expense of putting the cap on and off was a nuisance to me, and the hoses broke. They also leaked. I bought them to replace the screw on the lid and stronger glass. You didn't disappoint us. No leaks. No cracks. There are no problems with lids. Works well and while still glass they seem a lot less brittle.

  • Everything OK!

They leak and the marks wear away.

I use them fairly infrequently (once a month, not all tubes are used every time) for API aquarium water testing and I've only had them for 8 months. There is no more lettering on the outside, so adding 5ml is difficult. Also, sometimes caps screw straight on and sometimes they don't, no matter how carefully I screw them on, and unless screwed straight on, they leak badly. They're narrower than API tubes, meaning they're easy to miss when adding drops. Their narrow openings also mean that…

Good replacement for the original API test kit

I broke some API tubes and decided to buy new ones. The original API vial is quite expensive when sold separately. I chose this brand and model because they are labeled 5ml and also have a nice top cap that screws into the tube to avoid spilling when the tube is shaken. The only downside is that the mouth of the tube is narrow and when you want to dry the tube with a paper towel, the narrow neck squeezes it tight and the paper doesn't touch the inside of the tube properly. However, this can be…

Works, but there are downsides.

The screw on the tubes does the trick, preventing spills and leaks when you need to shake the tubes, an improvement over standard API tubes. there are some disadvantages.1. The hole is too narrow. The hole is much narrower compared to API holes, which means you are more likely to miss drops. Cleaning is also a hassle as the tension of the water combined with the narrow opening prevents water from squirting out when you turn the tube upside down, great when you use it but not so much when you…

  • Best in the niche

Inaccurate nonsense: fish and aquatic animals

Bought to replace API tubes [which are fragile and have horrible, disgusting lids], these tubes are somehow much worse. They are not manufactured with any degree of consistency and apparently there are no QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) standards at the factory in India. Each of the 6 tubes I received was a different length. The holes were too narrow, making draining less efficient. The 5mL mark was also slightly different for each tube. Also, and worst of all, the 5ml labeling was…
