Does not fit Honda Civic 2012

I bought this hoping it would fit Honda Civic 2012, it was too small, this Honda seems to have a 4th plug to have a size that no one makes an adapter for, I had to use a computer tester with a rubber tip.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

Works but be careful with the oil seal

Works well but the oil seal is thin and weak. not what you are used to from compression gauges. It wears out quickly and doesn't last long. It is best to install it on the hose and never remove or find a suitable seal.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • alt

Excellent adapter for compression and leak testing of 4-stroke trim engines

This is an excellent adapter for compression and leak testing of 4-stroke trim engine cylinders. I use an adapter for this. I'm sure there are many other engines that the adapter will work on. I have been using Lisle Tools for many years. So far, so good.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

good tool. fits engine tools

I thought I needed this tool for the Honda XR650L to check engine compression. It screws onto the end of my compression gauge hose. It worked, but the front exhaust valve has an automatic decompression device on the cam. So what I assumed was a leaking exhaust valve had to be leaking to start the engine. As soon as it starts and reaches a certain speed, the decompression devices take effect. This melted the piston, which led to heavy exhaust smoke.

Pros
  • Easy set up
Cons
  • So far so good

Ideal for small engines.

After using an HF compression tester and getting inaccurate readings and then reading all the bad reviews about it due to inaccuracies in small engines, I bought this Lisle based on its reviews. I'm happy to report that this compression tester worked great for my 4hp outboard motor. I believe the reason this tester works where the radio frequency doesn't is because this device has a Schrader valve on the end of the hose where it screws into the cylinder head.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some problems
