Excellent Transceiver for Computer Networks

This transceiver is a must-have for anyone who wants to upgrade their computer network. As a result of my tests, I determined that this transceiver is reliable and delivers excellent performance. The auto-negotiation feature is impressive and makes it easy to use. I was disappointed that it took a little longer than I expected to set up, but once it was up and running, it worked flawlessly. The Macroreer transceiver is a great addition to any network, it's affordable and delivers all the…

Pros
  • Easy to install and use.
Cons
  • Not compatible with devices that only have a fixed speed configuration.

More ports. Hooray!

Seems to work fine in the Meraki switch to access the extra ports. For a quick and inexpensive way to get a few more usable ports, they're a steal. They may not be related at all, but I had some random issues with a nearby port sometimes failing to negotiate gigabit speeds. I can't say for sure if it's related or if it hasn't happened before. This could (and probably is) be a cable issue, but since I wasn't ruling out gbic I thought it fair to mention it in case others experience the same…

Pros
  • A convenient way to add a copper connection to an SFP switch, typically used for fiber optic SFPs.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Macroreer for Ubiquiti Gigabit RJ45 Mini-GBIC 1000BASE-T 100m SFP Module Copper Transceiver They worked in the Ubiquiti Unifi 24 POE 250W Switch BUT you need to set the SFP ports link negotiation to manual and set the speed to increase up to 1000 Mbit/s. It took me a few minutes to figure that out. Modules will still be reinitialized/reset if negotiation stays in automatic mode! I deducted a star for that. But overall they work fine now!

Pros
  • RJ45 Ethernet connector.
Cons
  • Price
