Didn't work at all!

I have this modem in my apartment as well as the Netgear X10 router. I bought both new ones from Revain but my parents had just upgraded their wifi and needed a new modem. So I thought why not buy the same one I have but save some money and get Renewed from Revain. Brought, started to configure everything and everything worked. but then it didn't happen. I wasn't sure what the problem was, but I also didn't care about the router they had, so I bought new cables and a newer router. Well, it…

Pros
  • Long range
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Immaculate Electronics

Comcast/Xfinity has been charging us $13 a month for modem rentals for years. What a waste. It was easy to set up, works great and pays for itself in a matter of months. Make sure you write the MAC address under the modem. The cable company will ask for it.

Pros
  • Best-in-Niche

Works out of the box, works as advertised, replaces expensive rental

Great purchase to replace expensive ISP rental. The (upgraded) device worked right away and my speed test showed 280Mbps, which is what I pay and expect. The device is compact and ideal for connecting to your own high-performance router.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Good speeds - note only one ethernet port

If you have Xfinity give them a call and they will "allow" the device in your account or Xfinity won't see the MAC address . The instructions don't say it's necessary. Once it was set up the signal was great. Only one ethernet port, so make sure the router you buy has extra ethernet ports if you need them.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Not everything fits
