Good brand and good price.

Well built and does exactly what it was designed to do! Fitted a new chain on my 1972 Yamaha 350 and decided to invest in some tools - this is one of them.

The jaws don't open wide enough to work.

I bought this roller chain splicing tool and tried it on a brand new Renold 530 106 link chain. The jaws of this tool will not open wide enough to allow a new taut chain to be connected.

but I like the design and concept

neat tool. Keep in mind that if you need this tool because you removed links, it probably won't work. I usually install the chain on the rear sprocket, after removing the links to fit the smaller rear sprocket, found that 1 tooth was missing. I could almost get the master link. Got this tool and I could almost get it. but I like the design and the concept.
