Description of πŸ”§ 2001-2004 GM Duramax Engines: OTC 6778 Injector Removal Tool

OTC Injector Puller for GM Duramax engines - similar to Kent Moore J-44639. For use on 2001-2004 model year GM Duramax 6.6L engines. Safely pulls the injectors from the cylinder heads without pulling the injector cups. Simply insert the tool into the injector retainer bracket bolt hole, attach a socket and ratchet/breaker bar to one of the hex ends and start rocking back and forth - the injector will pop right out. Durable steel construction means tool will withstand heavy shop use and continue to perform as designed.

Works perfectly! good for tools and equipment

This thing has a pretty clever design. Pushes out the injectors by grasping the injector bracket and pushing it out of the hole.

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Special puller Value for money

Good product, you can do without it, but it makes the job a lot easier and definitely helps to avoid damage to expensive nozzles.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • There is a negative

Absolutely helped remove my injectors! He slides down into .

Absolutely helped remove the injectors! It slides down into the injector hold down bracket screw hole. I used my 16" Thorson jackhammer and a 15mm socket to rock the tool back and forth and the nozzle popped out. This tool is a little pricey, but it's worth lifting the fuel injector slightly.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Hard to tell

I expected it to be bigger.

My husband, a diesel technician, asked me to buy this tool for him. So I did just that, like a good little wife. Now that the box has arrived I was expecting a much bigger tool (TWSS). given the price. but unfortunately this little thing falls out and I'm pretty unimpressed. But beyond my feminine expectations, my husband assures me that this tool makes it quick and easy and makes HIM very satisfied.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Protection

I used this on my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado LB7 and it worked great, changing out the injectors on these models isn't the easiest so it was nice to have a tool that made it easy to remove the real injectors when you finally reach them. Here's a little tip from my experience: (if you don't want to change the nozzle caps), after you've installed the nozzle remover, use quick and light pulls (almost a rocking motion) to remove the nozzle, rather than one really hard pull. .

Pros
  • practical thing
Cons
  • there are nuances
