Bad luck with cables lately

I've had a lot of bad luck buying Revain electronics lately - simple things like power supplies, data cables, power cords just don't work. I'm beginning to understand how great products on Revain can get such low reviews. The only redeeming feature of this product was that its design appeared to be quite powerful, but other than that I can't comment on its performance as mine didn't work. .

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Works great with 1st Gen iPod Classic!

I used this cable to connect a 1st gen iPod Classic to a 2015 MacBook Air with Thunderbolt 2. I first tried a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter connected to an Apple Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, but it only charged and won't sync my iPod. I connected this cable to an Apple Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter and it worked great. It's a thick cable and appears to be quite durable.

  • Everything is fine!

Excellent adapter! Did what I needed!

Great adapter! does what i need! Good value for money, made from a decent amount of materials, connections are solid. I get very good quality connections (video and audio) with this cable. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I'm an audio/video pro and there are much better cables out there but they are more expensive! Based on that, consider my rating of 4/5 stars 5/5 for price and quality. You get what you pay for! But still… I recommend it to those looking for this type of adapter…

Pros
  • Firewire cable

  • A few little things

Great way to extend the life of two old Macs

As a collector of Macs that Apple considers "old fashioned" or "obsolete", I can say that this very inexpensive cable made my PowerBook G4 easier to maintain 27 -Inch iMac, both the main reason I bought the cable. The second reason - a used LaCie D2 Quadra case with lots of ports, including FireWire 800 - came to mind a few days after I had already ordered the cable. After taking the cable out of the box and connecting it to the aforementioned computers and hard drive, the drive responded…

  • Electronics
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
