Only the packaging differs from the new one

This filter is new and excellent. But I've noticed that the same new boxes sold at other auto parts stores are hexagonal, not square. I don't know why but it's the same filter. Happy with price and quality.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • poorly thought out

2nd Best Filter Filter

This is the filter I turn to when my purple filters aren't available as The Boss is very similar to the fantastic purple filter but with a big one Difference. This filter catches smaller particles. which is both good and bad. Can't use it for so long because it impedes the flow faster. But it's a great filter with the right construction and materials.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Hard to say

Works well but may be overkill

Use this oil with Valvoline full synthetic oil. Still, don't run the oil more than 5000 miles. No wear or settling problems at 90,000 miles. There has never been a single leak, clog or disconnection. You could probably use a cheaper filter, but you can get one for just a few bucks more. I want to know that in the event of a bearing failure, there is an additional ability to hold dirt.

Really great filter

These filters look great, including materials and construction. They are heavier than the standard reds and made from better materials which I find to be an advantage when using synthetics. Don't be fooled by the high prices of other filters as they do their job well. They filter excellently, which is noticeable when changing the oil. Yes, I recommend and I will definitely buy them again.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

This really is the BOSS among the oil filters!

I spent about 10 hours studying oil filters and concluded that this is the best filter. To be honest I've read every review that has been written, seen every YouTube video by every person opening and comparing all the top brands, and so on and so forth. You might assume I have a PhD in oil filtration! I drive a 2003 Chevy Suburban Z71 4x4 and drive it HARD. This BOSS filter is exactly what you need, the metal case wall is much thicker = more durable for the demands of a truck or someone like me

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expensive

The BEST oil filter on the market for your car or truck!

Purolator PureOne filters are some of the BEST filters you can buy! They are very well made inside and out. They are also the highest priced on the market! This is the ONLY filter I use. Test results at multiple locations showed the same excellent results. I am actually including a link to the oil filter test results here. PureOne results start about halfway down the page. They actually use it as a reference filter to compare to others, it's that good! It's definitely NOT FRAM or even K&N, it's

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Trade in

I'm a little suspicious.

I bought this oil filter along with another one for an upcoming oil change for two of my cars. I checked them out when I first got them a few weeks ago and they looked fine at first glance. Yesterday I decided to change the oil which resulted in having to use this filter. Raised the car on the ramp, drained the oil, then removed the used oil filter. I'm pretty picky and I usually put new oil in the new filter so the oil pressure in the engine doesn't lag when I start it after topping up. I went
