Never replace a starter motor without replacing this baby. From the school of hard hits. let me clear this up Have you ever replaced a starter motor and it sounded just as good as the old one? Maybe it's your solenoid!

Installed a 70's 30hp Johnson outboard. It has an internal mass. Some of the ones you buy at the auto parts store are externally grounded and won't work on my engine, but this one did. I am happy with my purchase so far.

Easy to install. Comes with all the necessary hardware so you don't (probably) end up using rusted nuts/washers. Use some dielectric grease to keep the screws from binding if you ever need to replace them. All screws are 3/8" head. Installation takes about 10-15 minutes. All screws are easily accessible. Easy to do by yourself.

Came on time. It works great but the only issue keeping me from getting 5 stars was that the diameter of the new one wasn't the same as the original but it was close so only minor tweaks were made and it was in less than 15 minutes. So overall a great replacement for my 1977 35hp Evinrude outboard!
