Avoid this product!

Very poor design, the remote control failed very quickly. Returned to Raymarine for exchange. The second block failed very quickly. I believe the problem is the battery compartment, which is ridiculously bad. Even if it works, it's just bearable.

Bad company support

This product's battery lasts a maximum of 3 minutes. I change to a new battery but it doesn't work for more than 3 minutes. This bad company doesn't support us and neither does Raymarine around the world. Don't buy Raymarine. I will change my whole system.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Almost never

NOT waterproof but can float on a boat. What idiot thought of that?

Of course the design is 20+ years old and the technology is barely 1980's; so you have to take it as it is. A new device being developed for THIS century will include an RF (better yet Bluetooth) base INSIDE the tiller, along with a lithium-ion battery that snaps into the tiller housing. Standalone with remote control - you can even use the phone app. I don't know why it hasn't been updated.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not as thick as other lock picks

Missing parts on autopilot

I'm not sure if the remote control is still working. The first unit shipped was missing (5) parts from the kit and the remote would not turn on. Tried several sets of batteries but it just wouldn't turn on. Apparently it has already been opened and returned once. The requested replacement which arrived yesterday is also missing some parts such as the belt clip and Seatalk junction box. I have a spare JB and the belt clip probably won't slow me down so I'll install the base station tomorrow. My…

You don't need it until you use it!

This little device is worth the price! Change course, tack, or circle (when fishing) from anywhere on the boat. In bad weather, I can use this small device to sit next to my companion behind the ladies' man and steer the boat. Installation was easy and straightforward. The batteries that came with the unit had a very short lifespan, but with some good quality batteries the wireless autopilot will last all day. I used it to cruise down the Delaware River and made many course corrections, keeping

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Look for the battery compartment

This is actually a great little remote control; copes with its task well and greatly simplifies the passage of the MKV, etc. The only drawback is the battery compartment. It doesn't go well with the lid that fits over it. If you are not careful that the cover is on the outside of the battery holder, the connectors may break as shown in the photo. You must first insert the "top" end of the battery cover, making sure it is on the outside of the battery holder, and then snap it in from below…
