Cannot be placed vertically

Unfortunately we were not able to assemble this goal where it was needed. We wanted to fit it in our hallway, which should be possible in the listing and box state, but it doesn't state that it can only be fitted in openings with parallel walls. We have an entrance hall that does not have a traditional door and one wall leads into the living room. We could wall mount the gate, but it would end up with a permanent kink on one end to allow for a vertical placement. Also, from the few we've seen…

A solid wall gate that does the job

This retractable children's gate is nothing special compared to others. I would choose the cheapest and most visually appealing. It cost $49.99 at the time of this review, while there are a few on the market for $40, assuming they're a little cheaper. To properly install this gate you will need to drill holes in the wall or door frame. Keep in mind this doesn't work for glass or metal stairs. The gate is a strong web and retracts like a seat belt. Requires installation outside the doorway. a bit difficult to use when you are carrying something.

Thought we might use this at home to mind the dogs. Unfortunately installation was a problem as I couldn't use it in a door, it has to be outside the door edges on one side or the other. This is a problem due to the presence of 5 inch baseboards. If we try to fix it over the baseboard, a small dog can still get through. Takes up little space, easy to use

This baby gate is essential when there is not enough space at the bottom of the stairs to open the gate. We needed a retractable gate due to the minimal space for swing gates and it met all my expectations. You can lock it by twisting the handle on top so it won't pop out when your child pushes the net. Opening and closing with one hand was also easy for me personally. I had no trouble locking with one hand (sometimes my parents do) but once you get the hang of it you can do it with one hand. I
