Works much better than other valve seal removing pliers

Works much better than other valve seal removing pliers. If you press hard on the tool, it will flex a little, but it doesn't take that much pressure to break the seal.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Maybe I got the broken one: Motor tools

They are pretty much useless to me. The notches of the pliers tend to slip and the jaws are not quite aligned. I'm not sure if the lack of alignment could be usage or production related. $40 is way too much for a fussy pair of pliers.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Was damaged

Great tool! the best of tools and equipment

Great tool! I was concerned that the edges would be sharp and the lifter holes would bulge, but they were smoothed out to prevent this. The jaws are indeed a bit large for use with small import/euro stem seals, but they did the job.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Not as tight as I had hoped.

This is a well made tool with quality materials and construction. However, it's not as tight as I had hoped. It was not suitable for removing valve stem seals from the intake side of the VW 1.8T I was working on. It did a great job on the exhaust side, squeezing the gaskets tight for twisting and retrieval.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Update available

Not suitable for small seals

Bought to replace a valve guide seal on a Suzuki Sidekick car and the seals were too small for this tool to hold them properly. I'm sure it will work fine for larger engines with larger gaskets. This time I made another DIY tool for this project. The Schley tool stays in the tool box for another day and is used.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No automatic

Bought to replace my son's valve seals.

Purchased to replace valve stem seals on my son's 2000 Celica without removing the head. The tool works very well and saved at least an hour or two of tedious work. One thing I found after a few seals is to let the tool do its job, gently push and rock/twist. Do not grip too tightly as this will only force the gasket against the post. Well made, durable and the perfect size for the job.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Frequency

Well made, right tool for the job

I've read many stories of people trying to remove old valve seals. These pliers make the job a lot easier. They're strong (I've read some other pliers don't have this), hold the old gasket fairly well (still need some pressure to keep them in place, but be careful not to pinch/pinch the old gasket as this will makes it difficult to remove). , and the length allows the seal to swing when removed. Decent price, fast shipping and now I have this tool in the box for my next repair.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Compatibility
