Type of review

I have had previous versions of the Seaflo pump and the pressure switch on those early versions could not handle the amperage the pump would draw and the the spade wire connectors they used would melt and or fail. SeaFlo came out with this version of the pump with a new improved pressure switch with sealed wire connections that appears to be able to handle the amperage that is drawn by the pump. I use the pump in a Class A Motorhome that I live almost full time in and I boondock a lot so use…

Pros
  • Can't wait to try it out.
Cons
  • Way too loud for use in our RV. PSI and GPM were all as advertised, but just too loud.

Adjustable pressure switch

Ordered and installed this 55 series pump.I chose this pump because of the "new improved robust pressure switch". Problem is that when I turn water on I get immediate water but it takes 3 to 5 seconds for the pump to turn on.when I turn water off it takes 3 to 5 seconds for the pump to turn off.Unfortunately the pressure switch is sealed so I cannot make the adjustment. Not sure if I am going to live with this or order a 54 series with an adjustable pressure switch.'.

Pros
  • Works well but not as powerful as I expected
Cons
  • Failed in the first month used twice

Cheap junk for my opinion

This is our 2nd one of these pumps. Needed a wash down pump for our boat to pump salt water for cleaning fish on board and them pumping fresh water to wash down our boat when we pull out. Very cheaply made. Rusted immediately just getting wet from rain. Did not take exposure to salt water at all as all of the wires instantly corroded. Waist of time and money.

Pros
  • ‎Stainless Steel
Cons
  • Can be prone to overheating and causing damage to the pump or surrounding components

Great mid-priced pump!

Live in the back country. Worked off of tank pressure from about 40' until our tank water heater went out & couldn't find one that would work on 5 gallon propane cans. So, got a small "camping" tankless that WOULD work with 5 Gal propane cans. However, the pump that came with the water heater just BARELY pushed enough pressure & flow thru to keep the heater working. Finally, it gave out so, after some research we got this one. WOW! What a difference! No more showers where the hot water just…

Pros
  • Pumps & Accessories
Cons
  • May require professional installation and setup services

Best option for off grid

I bought this pump for the volume it pumps per minute. I installed it in my off grid cabin for an on demand propane hot water heater. The water volume makes the heater more consistent with fluctuations because of pressure. I wonderful upgrade and well worth the money. I am very happy with it.

Pros
  • ‎8.5 x 5.75 x 5.16 inches
Cons
  • Can be less reliable in harsh marine or RV conditions

Installed no issues

Easy install ,not much difference in the noise from old pump . Works fine and seams to have more pressureUpdate pump builds pressure but won't shut off unless I open cold water faucet and close quickly then pump shuts off and stays off till water is used again then have to repeat the process to get it to shut off

Pros
  • The price is a bit high
Cons
  • I set up the pump as directed, there does not appear to be any warranty.

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP!

As a boat live aboard, this pump supplies my pressure water. I have been getting a couple years from preassure pumps historically. and its always the pressure switch that fails. Exactly 3 weeks after installing it this , now un-returnable, pump wont shut off. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY DON'T BUY IT. FYI> the reason it's not retunable is It was delivered 39 days ago. What a waste of money!

Pros
  • Good price for a good product
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all types of marine and RV water systems

Quiet, powerful, pressure switch convenience!

Love this pump; what quality! Not sure how I got along so long without it. I'm particularly happy with the pressure switch that turns the pump on and off as demand requires (for instance, if you're watering the garden from a container of water you're pumping from).

Pros
  • Diaphragm Pumps
Cons
  • May require frequent replacement of parts and components

No starter best in my review

It took a while to hook the system up and now the pump will not start. Checked the voltage and line pressure. Emailed company and as yet no response.

Pros
  • Lots of water compared to the original one that came with the rv
Cons
  • Don’t like it pluses too much

WorX ok, not as much water as hoped for

This pump worx ok, but it doesn't put out as much water as other reviews make you believe. It's simply a standard amount. I installed it in our 5th wheel camper and was not impressed. I should've spent the money for a pump that has a higher flow rate. Oh well.

Pros
  • Thermal overload and ignition protection
Cons
  • May not be able to handle a high volume of water usage or demand

I use this as part of a rainwater harvesting irrigation setup

Pump works perfectly for hose nozzles or sprinklers. On demand works great. I have it hooked to a 12v battery with a solar trickle charger attached. 100% off grid irrigation. Great pump so far.

Pros
  • 12V Self-Priming Water Pressure Pump
Cons
  • Can be difficult to troubleshoot problems

Will not shut off! good for me

This is my second Seaflow-55 pump. The first one died after 16 months, its motor froze up. I purchased and installed the second one around the beginning of December 2021. It pumps OK but it doesn’t shut off. There are no pressure leaks and it is the same system in which the first Seaflow-55 pump was installed. Bad purchase and very difficult to reach customer support. It is mid-January 2022, and I am still waiting to hear from them.

Pros
  • Pump was well made, worked as expected. But the fittings were very poor quality.
Cons
  • Pump worked for a day, then ran continuously. Possible defective pressure switch.

Great pump in my review

Very good pump. Onev reviewer complained that the threads on the inlet and outlet weren't 1/2" mnpt. They are, my fittings screwed right on with no problem.

Pros
  • love it
Cons
  • Broke after a few months...

Great quality, true 5gpm, unbeatable price!

Absolutely love this pump! I use it for my mobile automotive detailing business. With the five gallons per hour, the pressure is more than enough, and comparable to using your garden house! It is also a little smaller lengthwise than the aqua pump this one replaced. If there is a downside, it would be that you cannot replace the the fixtures that your hoses connect to which I don't see being too much of an issue, looks like you can replace the whole outside piece if needed. Like it enough that…

Pros
  • Better than sureflo. Installs in minutes.
Cons
  • Can be heavier and bulkier than other water pump models

Do You Really Want This Pump?

Just received this pump. Tested it to make sure it ran and it did. Actual pumping is another matter. When attempting to hook up a 1/2 in. hose fitting to it, I could not get the hose fitting on either output or input. I tried several other fittings and had the same problem, with exception of a couple fittings that have absolutely nothing to do with the application and are not standard hose fittings but deeper. You can imagine my frustration. Here's the deal. I am off grid (100% solar power) and

Pros
  • great price and works well
Cons
  • Defective out of the box

2bd failure, lackluster customer support.

I would steer clear of Seaflo pumps. This is my 2nd Seaflo pump I've bought and each pump has failed and warranty support is lackluster. My first pump was a 33 series that I installed in out camper. It failed within a year and I left multiple messages and emails without any response. After about 4 weeks of no response I left a bad review on Amaxon and had an email that day offering help and asking me to consider changing my review. By that time I bought a Surflo pump locally and it's been going

Pros
  • Great product easy to install
Cons
  • Bought 2 pumps both blew out within 4 months just moving water not even chemicals
