Reliable product for all occasions, quality on par.

A good voice recorder that can be used for both sound recording and speech recording. Built-in memory will last for a long time, and little finger batteries can always be found if the device runs out of power. Has pros: Excellent sound quality, comparable to professional sound recording! Especially when using an external microphone. With headphones connected, you can monitor the sound. Its cons: Like everyone here, I discovered the lack of connection to the PC after the purchase. It's not scary

I purchased this recorder without any intentions and goals, to play around and figure out what to do with it. Lying in the car, and often used as an assistant in recording songs, thoughts, audio notes, various notes and conversations. He did his job perfectly, turned on quickly, recording started quickly, a lot of recordings could be made, but the memory was fixed. The controls were pressed clearly without any complaints, the sound quality seemed acceptable, you can connect an external…

Second-rate goods, I wont buy any more.

The quality isn't great at all. The sound at a distance of 5 meters is recorded quietly. This is not the main disadvantage. There is no way to copy digitally to a computer, this is in the 21st century! Only through the headphone audio output in analog signal. This means that if you wrote 2 hours, you have to wait 2 hours for copying. After that, respect for the company Sony (I will never write with a capital letter) fell below the plinth. There was a lot of equipment from this company, now I…

My money is wasted, the product is terrible.

Selling a digital device in the 21st century without the ability to connect to a PC is a crime. For Sony, this is unforgivable. The only way to export recorded material to a PC is to capture analog audio from the line-in (good thing this craft has a headphone jack), this will require a line-in cable and a lot of free time - like in the good old days of cassette recorders. Welcome to the 90s - Its a Sony!

    Pros
    • Price 1500. Acceptable quality of the case - nothing creaks. Recording quality is average.
    Cons
    • Inability to connect to a PC. No built-in battery (for some, this is not a minus, but a plus)

    Very convenient!

This is the most economical and user-friendly voice recorder. I used to buy them for my young students. I use them to record stories for the students to review for themselves. If a five, six, or seven year old can learn to operate this machine, it must be very comfortable. The only aspect that can be confusing is the presence of four or five folders. However, if you stick to one folder at a time, recordings are easy to create and find for playback.

    That's great! on digital recorders

I wasn't sure if this would do what I needed but it really is amazing. I take it to my doctor's appointment because I have a hard time remembering things. I turn it on when the doctor comes and when I get home I can type my notes. I also use it all the time and wear it with a drawstring waist. If something comes to my mind that I need to remember, I just hit the record button and I can record that element later. I wish I would have at least talked about this a few years ago. Everyone I tell…

    My device crashes

Turns off too quickly without extending the standby time. Difficult to turn on with one hand - on my model the battery connector opened up. I was still relatively happy with it until it started glitching. I jotted down a few quick notes, but then realized none of them were saved. I could not play them or save a new entry in this folder. Switching to a different folder worked, but I've encountered a few other crashes where I had to take out the batteries to get it working again. Formatting the…

All I needed was a simple, easy-to-use voice recorder with a built-in speaker. The Sony ICD-PX240 is just that, easy to use, with good sound levels and playback quality with a built in speaker. I don't know if it can transfer files to a computer and honestly I don't care, I never will have to. It's a good size that doesn't get lost, a decent display that's crisp and easy to read, and well-sized buttons that make it easy to use. Recording is easy: just press and hold the power button, wait for…

It's easy to use and intuitive.

This is my second Sony DVR; the first lasted ten years and has only recently begun to show signs of fatigue. I use my voice recorder every day and can't stay organized without it. This is the latest generation of the product and works very well. It's easy to use and the controls are intuitive so you probably don't even need to read the instructions. Love the fact that I can now select from 5 file folders with just one button - I don't have to go to the menu anymore. This way I can easily take…

Professional quality audio recorder at a bargain price

I bought this Sony ICD-PX240 4GB recorder after buying a Tascam DR-05 for solo audio recording and I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of this Sony recorder compared to the more expensive Tascam. If you connect a quality microphone to this unit, I don't think you will be able to tell it apart from other more expensive audio recorders. The only negative thing about this machine is that the menus are difficult to understand when you first explore this machine, unlike other…

    Excellent sound quality

Very happy with this recorder. What I like the most is the separate "Folder" button. With my old Sony recorders I had to go through the menu to switch folders. This makes it easy to categorize messages into different topics. Also, this recorder has 5 folders instead of 4 on my previous recorders. One (minor) thing I don't like is that I have to slide the "Power" button and wait 4 or 5 seconds (while "Access" is flashing) for the recorder to be ready to use. This is required if you have not used

I would return it if I could

I bought it in December and used it for about 1.5 to 2 months and I'm not impressed. I should have tried to get it back sooner but I tried to give it a good shake. Bad choice because now it's too late to go back. Pros: 1) The sound quality is pretty good. Almost as good as any voice recorder I've used, so no complaints. 2 Available. I can put in two brand new batteries and even without using them they will be dead by the end of the week. If you actually use it, you won't live with it for a…
