I fitted it to my 2004 Subaru WRX 2.0L and my car was overheating. Even after ordering the thermostat from a Subaru dealer, it didn't look like a Subaru thermostat. Please note this as suitable for the 2004 Subaru WRX 2.0L engine. Also for everyone out there who learns from me and always buys important parts from your dealer. Trying to save $15 now could cost you hundreds of dollars later.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Nothing here

Not as shown: Replacement parts

Return. Powerful enough to bleed air out of a Subaru and the one I got didn't have a bleeder valve. Go to the dealership and buy the right thing. Your aluminum engine will have hot spots before it gets hot enough to open.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Subaru 2000 2.5L

No thermostat drain? For installation in a 2000 station wagon, this does not play a major role. The block seems to break a little earlier than the OEM but not too early to splash due to too much cold fluid volume. I'll update if I run into problems, but don't really expect them.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Says it will fit 2011 Sub Impreza but nowhere near OEM

I got this while changing a timing belt/water pump. Had to stay with the OEM. This fits, but is 1/3 smaller than the original. The main reason for head gasket failure is a faulty thermostat. I couldn't risk it and had to go to Subaru to get a new one.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • So far so good

Don't make assumptions when ordering online.

Bought together with a few other items when replacing the timing belt and water pump. I thought it came with a new gasket but I was wrong. I wish it was stated in the description. Many thermostats come with new gaskets as you always need to replace them to be safe. Luckily the auto parts store was still open for 20 minutes when I opened the thermostat box. So if you buy that, take the gasket with you too.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • unreliable
