Works well with DisplayPort

I bought this KVM to switch between two laptops - one Dell running Linux and the other a MacbookPro with an HP QHD monitor. I also use a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse with a small dongle. It works fine for these components. I can't use shortcuts to switch when using a wireless keyboard and mouse, but that's not a problem if I can easily reach the device on my desk. What didn't work so well was my external webcam. The toggling seems to confuse computers, which means I've had to constantly…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Today it is the best display KVM on the market (as of 04/20/2020)

Of course, in my opinion, TESmart is the best DP KVM in this price range. First, you don't have many Displayport KVM options on the market, most of which are overpriced. I had another StarTech DP KVM from a previous job. When I wanted to buy one for WFH during the pandemic, I looked at StarTech first, but the price was much more expensive ($263). TESmart is one of the cheapest KVM DPs I could find, so I bought it and it worked fine. ($100). I have to say that Displayport is relatively less…

So far, so good. 3440x1440 @ 144Hz with G-Sync!

I was looking for a Displayport KVM to use with my LG 3440 x 1440 @ 144Hz monitor so it could be shared between my Macbook and a gaming PC. Technically this product is only DP 1.2 which isn't good enough for the advertised resolution and refresh rate, but I've been using it for a few days and it's been working great so far. With the click of a button I can switch between my Macbook and get the full 144Hz of my display and peripherals and then switch to my gaming PC and use G-Sync with no issues

  • Complete Kit

  • Too long to wait

Works 90% of the time, 10% drives you crazy

Works instantly and is intuitive. 2 LEDs to indicate whether devices are connected, 2 LEDs to indicate which device is being switched to. It comes with all the necessary cables, which is a big plus. Now for the cons: 1. The remote is hot shit and works if I'm lucky. Only 1 button on the remote is needed to switch, instead I have 6 buttons. You might think that pressing 1 would switch to device 1 and 2 would switch to device 2. No, all 6 buttons do not work. Yes, I put in a new battery. It…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

Currently the best DP KVM for external components

There appears to be a known bug in the product which is causing the screen to turn on and off at random times. I emailed the manufacturer's support and was advised to try other cables than the ones that came with it. Support said that if the new cables fix this they will give a cash rebate on the cables. I tried several cables I had on hand and when they didn't fix the problem I ordered new cables. The new cables fixed the problem but after sending the bill to support I haven't heard back from…

Pros
  • Pleasing
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Good video; the rest leaves a lot to be desired

I've been using this KVM for 10 months now. I managed to share a monitor/keyboard/mouse between two laptops, a Lenovo on a docking station and an HP. Both laptops are running Windows 10 (latest versions installed). All connections from each laptop to the KVM are through separate ports (no port sharing). I have not experienced the issues described below when the same keyboard/mouse (any combination) is directly attached to laptops. small. You can easily put it aside somewhere. Remote Control…
