Works Like a Magic: Decking and Railing

Only gave 4 stars because the last 2-3 inches have to be hammered into the rack. I only had a two pound hammer so that might be the problem; maybe get five pound one. It works just as advertised.

Worked very well in railings and struts

I used these on 6" x 6" rough sawn cedar, they worked very well. These racks measured 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and I was still able to get screws into the deck's mounting holes. I chose to leave the fixing screw (8) visible, I liked the look, I didn't use skirts.

Not only will you end up drilling a large hole in the center of the post, but at 6x6 I think you'll need to install 8 anchor bolts or screws into the concrete. In certain situations I think this will be the anchor I will be ordering…

I let the wood dry slowly by laying it on its side on logs in my garage and out of direct sunlight. I flipped it every few days for a month. If it were spinning I wouldn't want to waste my time and money installing a base in it.2. An end was determined that yielded no knots within the first 5-6 inches. 3. The cut end is absolutely square.4. Carefully…
