Help for those having problems

This is a "fake" review I am posting here so others can see if they are having the same problems as me. With a CuNi brake line, 95% of my flares came out kinked on the outside (first photo). I found that this happens in the first step, the "Bubble" step. After lots of experimentation and purchasing a similar Ares tool, I found that this was due to the tube warping during that first "bubbling" and that less unfinished tube sticking out in that first step solved the problem. In the end I put 2…

Using this on a copper nickel brake line will require a bit of experimentation, especially if you are using 3/16. This tool was designed for steel brake lines and will probably work well with them (I haven't tried it) but you will have some wrinkling problems if you don't adjust the length of brake line you put in the tool. The instructions say to insert the brake line until it touches the depth gauge and then tighten the clamp. If you are using 3/16" line you need to be about 1/8" from the…

Unreal! Outstanding!: Brake Tools

The quality of this product as well as the quality of the highlights this thing makes is just unreal. I've used most Flare tools in the low to mid range with the "clamp thing" that uses wing nuts, they all left lines and pinch marks on the line and even some of the ends didn't look concentric. I've even seen the brake line slip in the clamps, especially when using stainless steel tubing. This tool has a nice long clamping area that doesn't need 'teeth' to prevent the line from slipping even…

I'm a mechanical engineer and currently give this tool 1 STAR but plan to upgrade to 4-5 STARs if and when the seller contacts me to fix TWO issues. First, the two included screws that hold the two halves together are either factory defective or were previously used by someone else. Both screws literally have holes in them, like the eye of a needle, and at least 50% of their cross-sectional area is missing below the root of one of the threads, which will certainly shorten tool life as both…

Checked. Approved! the best brake tool

This review relates to the Titan 3/16 tube flaring tool. I just received the tool and had to see how well it would work with my favorite steel/copper-plated-nickel automotive igniter tubes. First, to spoil the bottom line. Is working! The quality of the parts looks very good. No crappy threads and the main clamp looks very nice cast or forged. The internal threads that pull the die in are not split, but a solid, one-piece construction that you won't see on other flaring tools. I've tested this…

One of the most innovative tools I've seen

Each year I buy literally hundreds of items from Revain, most of which are tools or something. I never write reviews. As far as I remember, this is the first review I've written in many years. This tool is absolutely amazing. It's even totally unfair to put it in a set to compare with "other" cheap crimping tools. I'm a "semi-professional" mechanic and I think EVERY garage should have this tool. This tool is brilliant, innovative, small and can be easily flared on or off the vehicle. I also…
