Of bad quality. Just work with mods

As others have said. This box does its job after you've sealed the air gaps in and out of the box. I put the seal in because the screen doesn't touch the back of the box (so the lint goes straight through). I wrapped aluminum tape around all the gaskets and the ins and outs where they (didn't) fit against the box. I also had to find a way to keep the front air tight to the box. Required with additional fan, this is sufficient

The auxiliary dryer fan I installed required an additional lint filter and was recommended to me by the company that sold the auxiliary fan to me. In addition, the lint collects on both sides of the screen at the edge, so

Pros
  • Reduces possible accumulation of fluff in the duct or fan
Cons
  • There are other interesting possibilities.

This unit does a great job of picking up the large amount of lint that passes through the dryer's inner screen. I would recommend using HVAC tape (not gray tape) to seal all seams inside and out to prevent lint from getting into the edges of the sheet metal. The inlet and outlet are also the same diameter, so a coupling must be used when connecting the outlet side to a 4" rigid tapered metal conduit. I also made a bracket out of a piece of aluminum to attach it between the wall studs rather…
