Excellent value for money and quality! The perfect portrait lens.

I spent a lot of money on system lenses. For $98 (how much I paid). You can't beat this. I am very happy with what I received. Heavy weight, durable construction. Disclaimer: Manual focus only. But focus peaking makes finding what you need quick and easy. Manual mode allowed me to understand my camera better and improve my photos.

The best manual focus lens on the market.

The lens is one of the best for the money today. It's sharp, the bokeh is pleasing, and the all-metal construction means it's fairly durable. Basically you get vintage quality Takumar with no radiation. This is a manual lens with really good physical properties, which is great to combine with the use of focus assists like focus peaking. The aperture ring clicks into place well, but isn't too loud. The value of this lens cannot be overstated.

It's a great build and the focus and aperture rings are excellent. Unfortunately, it has a terrible aperture blade design that gives you really ugly bokeh. If you don't have lights in your background that create a round bokeh, you'll probably be fine most of the time. Beyond f/1.2, however, the bokeh…

Incredible APS-C prime for the price of

To be honest, I'm not too keen on the crop of cheap (read "cheap") Chinese lenses. However, a recent release by a new company called TTArtisan caught my attention. They launched a 50mm f1.2 APS-C prime lens (75mm full-frame equivalent). The lens has a clickable aperture ring. (A lot of the cheap lenses have non-clickable aperture rings. Great for videographers. Not great for those of us who mainly take photos.) The lens looks well made. With the exception of the plastic rear cover, the lens is…
