defective unit. No liability

The device was plugged in and not working. After 24 hours, the broadband connection dropped several times a day, requiring a reboot to recover. Replaced an identical at&t gateway that worked fine, hoping not to rent it out. My friend works as a tech at AT&T, he checked it out. Said the gateway was broken. Reinstalled the rented device, everything works. All settings and boot orders are followed verbatim. Beware the 30% restocking fee, ridiculous for a defective item. Never use this seller, you…

Pros
  • High support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • There are defects

Works with AT&T Uverse Internet

After paying about $600 to rent a cable modem for several years, I decided it was worth the risk and bought one. I have the advantage of having a son who used to work for the Geek Squad to help build it. Everything worked pretty much straight away, but I have to admit that what took my son 20 minutes to set up the settings would have taken me a couple of hours.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No machine

Works perfectly! on networking products

I used this with my new AT&T fiber optic internet service which I installed in December 2019. I need to reach speeds of up to 300 Mbps and I'm getting over it. The engineer who installed the service told me he's never seen anyone use their own gateway. I'm not sure why because this thing works great. It worked right away and I haven't had any problems during the last month of running it. This saves me $10 a month in hardware. I highly recommend it.

  • Rugged construction

system compatibility.

Purchased on AT&T's recommendation to upgrade to fiber optics. However, an AT&T technician refused to install it because it was not compatible with AT&T fiber. In fact, the problem wasn't with that device, it was that AT&T's left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. We later learned that AT&T fiber only works with an AT&T-supplied modem/router.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • This pisses me off

works perfectly! on routers

I read all the reviews before buying. This worked great and works WAY better than the crap ATT gave me. it replaces my Arris NVG599 (<-----shit). I asked to be replaced with this model but they refused and said they would send another. The Wi-Fi sucks, but THAT worked straight away. Wi-Fi works better and faster. Video and audio quality is MUCH better. Now I have to turn off the sound. It has an old software/firmware version, but hopefully ATT will update it to the latest version soon.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
