Very cheap plastic, broke before first use

On the first attempt to fill the lighter, the lighter broke off the plastic body, taking the locking screw with it. The lighter is still usable but falls apart when opened. The "compass" on the lighter appears to be accurate to within 180 degrees, sometimes pointing north, sometimes west, sometimes east, but never south. For that reason, I'm giving it a 3-star accuracy rating.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not sure

Cool gadget for the home

I don't usually buy lighters. In this case I made an exception. I like the idea of the dual function fuse. It meets all requirements. I had a little trouble turning it on, so I gave it four stars. I could be, but I have a hard time throwing punches. It has a good flame. I like the color, it's easy to find. I like the compass function. All in all it's pretty cool. However, this is a gadget, I will always have my main system for starting a fire.

Pros
  • Lighters and matches
Cons
  • No instructions

Temperature Matters

This is a butane lighter. This design was passed from manufacturer to manufacturer. This is a good piezo lighter. The flame is hot but short. You will need to adjust the fuel supply screw on the bottom of the lighter for your local altitude. You must keep this lighter in an inside pocket of your clothing. If you're out in the cold wearing this on your EDC keychain you'll be disappointed. [Personally, I add a peanut lighter and iron rod to my device ring (where I keep my keys).]

Pros
  • Housewares
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

You get what you pay for.

When he arrived he noticed that the "compass" was useless - the capsule was half filled with air and there was NO arrow rotation. After three refueling attempts, I managed to fill the lighter with a small amount of propane. Surrounding the fill tube, the flame adjuster is made of very soft plastic that fell apart when I tried to adjust it. The "O-ring" that is supposed to keep the device waterproof is a terrible flaw as ANY contact with water renders the lighter unusable. I ended up dropping…
