Gods Unchained is a very well known trading card game brought to the ethereum blockchain. Featuring play to own mechanics, users may compete against each other in weekend challenges and for experience points reaping core cards packs as rewards for their efforts.
Core cards are the earnable class cards you can earn via gameplay, but there are also more valuable Genesis class cards to be collected. Genesis cards are not earnable but may be purchased third party from other players at places like opensea and were part of the original game pre-sale. As a result these cards have a limited supply and are no longer sold by the game directly.
Gods Unchained features endless gameplay but can be quite repetitive or boring for those not used to the trading card genre. From an investment perspective it is not a good choice. Core cards hyper inflate daily and even with card fusion, there is not enough demand to offset supply which has driven the prices on most core cards down to next to nothing in value.
Genesis cards are a different story due to their finite supply so it is likely they will retain value and even gradually increase over time. The greatest drawback to genesis cards is that millions were bought and most cards with any scarcity are already demanding huge premiums I as an investor, wouldn't expect to see for years to come. One thing worth remembering is just because someone lists something at a particular price, doesn't mean that's what its worth. I could list my lucky sock for a million dollars but that doesn't mean it will ever sell.
In conclusion, Gods Unchained is a great addition to the crypto space and a really fun game. It simply lacks severely in the investment department and trails behind almost every crypto title to date for earnings per time spent.
