Today i want to share my experience of the Coinbase VISA debit card.
Coinbase offers the cards for users in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. We’re working on expanding the offer to additional markets.
The fees of this cards are a bit higher compared to other crypto debit card, i expect that they will be lower soon because of the VISA partnership:

Domestic Cash Withdrawal Fee: Up to £200 / 200 € per month: Free
Any amount over £200 / 200 € per month: 1.00% of value of ATM withdrawal(per transaction)
International Cash Withdrawal Fee Up to £200 / 200 € Free
Any amount over £200 / 200 € or currency equivalent per month: 2.00% of value of ATM withdrawal (per transaction)
Domestic Purchase Transaction Fee Free
Intra-EEA Purchase Transaction Fee 0.20% of value of POS transaction
International Purchase Transaction Fee 3.00% of value of POS transaction
Card Replacement Fee £4.95 - 4.95 € (per Card issued)
Chargeback Processing Fee £20.00 / 20,00 €
Crypto Liquidation Fees
: 2.49% of transaction
Intra-EEA Purchase Transaction Fee
: 0.2% of transact
The Coinbase Card and can be used everywhere VISA is accepted. You can use the card for every online or store purchase.
The cards support contactless payments.
You can use the Coinbase app to setup the currency you want to pay with. If you are already a Coinbase user, it's great because you don't need to create a new wallet or account for your card.
Lets see what the lately announced partnership with VISA will bring. Currently there are no benefits or cashback for users and the fees are (imo) a bit too high. I really like Coinbase because they are very trustworthy so I'm looking forward to potential improvements.
