Warning - this only works for 2 DeWalt models

I just re-read the product description on Revain and there is no mention that this guide only works for the DW535 or DCS577. I didn't find out about this until I opened the box and read the 2nd paragraph of the installation guide. The poor product description cost me time, but I hope this information will save you.

this is really a great accessory. I used it to rip plywood

is a really great accessory. I've used it to break plywood, 2x and hard boards, hard soffits. Cutting plywood for headers. The capacity is 12 inches, it works great. I'm very glad I spent the extra dollars on this item. I can't break the table saw more often. definitely buy again.

If you don't have a table saw, you need one.

So glad I found this! I have used it many times with my DCS577 60V saw (worm drive) with amazing results. Placing it on the left side allows you to make 1/2 inch breaks. Easily folds to fit in a tool box. People usually go crazy when I take it out and open it. I had 2 pieces of 1" x 3" x 10' sawmill cedar. I used a fence and a cordless to break each into two ½" x 3" boards that came out nice.

Almost like a table saw

Cuts almost as straight as a table saw! I've used it quite a bit, ripped 2x4s and cut plywood. You need to make sure that the lateral pressure you apply to the face of the guide is in front of where your blade will cut or it will get stuck. The arms are aluminum and I see people bending them accidentally, but with a little care I've had no problems. Hand measurements are accurate and easy to use and set. It's a bit pricey for what it is, but it's really convenient. Overall I think this is a…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • boring packaging

Probably the best forearm stop you can get on a Dewalt worm drive saw. There is a fence of about 6 inches in front of the saw, making cutting sheet materials HAOOOO easy and precise. Mine is about 1/4 smaller than actual size. But measurements are crucial in shaping your haircut. Also, you can't slide the guide flush with the shoe on the saw because the burr can slide on the guide that the shoe can slide on. The smallest cut you can make in sheet material is about 1 1/4 inches. Pretty cool, but

Fur. Cheap aluminum rails.

This item has been slightly disassembled. The packaging box was fine and the Dewalt packaging was fine. I'm not sure if the test was a bit rough or if it was just used before. In any case, it doesn't look new. When unfolding, it was immediately noticeable that the nut stopper for leg B does not stop at 90 degrees. That's a little different. I'm not sure if it's that important, other than making sure your saw is evenly aligned on each foot. In addition, aluminum rails appear to be very cheap. I…

Good But Not Great: Saw Blades, Parts & Accessories

Well this little one is a good bit of gear for your DeWalt auger saw or Sidewinder saw (dcs577 or 578 among others I think). Don't make one of the impromptu circus saw tracks yourself. And even if you did, it's still useful and good to have on hand. However, for my taste it initially turned out to be a bit unwieldy, with all its adjustments and limitations. This maximum stretch is great for ripping, not so much for transversely cutting large 4-inch boards in half. But hey, it's a break…

Such a good idea but poor material and workmanship

Didn't want to build a jig and rip 6" concrete moldings. It will help but as many have said. Construction tool" and not a school project. If it's locked at 1, the pointer will still move, which is inconvenient. You must install each side as you lock them. The plastic lock nuts are so terrible and I can see they break pretty easily. Overall, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy it. If only it were metal, it would have better locking levers, metal locknuts, and a universal fastener. Then it would cost

Works well until the fragile aluminum handles bend!

I am building a house and use it often with the DCS577B. I had to tear the plywood into strips for the sheathing and it worked great for the first step of cutting. Push down on the guide bar before cutting the blade and you'll get a near-perfect straight cut. It takes a little practice and a feel from my experience, but once you get it right the cuts will be quick. The problem is that the first time the guide hits or falls off when attached to the saw. The moment this happens, based on…
