Small Capacity Galvanized Steel Wall-Mount Mailbox in Black - Gibraltar Mailboxes THHB0001 Review

Cheapest thing I could find for work when my postman told me I needed a mailbox. Holds standard size envelopes or rolled magazines. An asterisk because you can't mount it directly on the wall. It must be present for the lid to open properly. But the 1x2 crowbar is doing quite well.

We needed to replace an old mailbox but didn't want to spend too much on a replacement. This mailbox is well made and holds a lot of mail despite its size. We are happy with the choice. Time will tell as to durability and how it holds up to the elements, but for now it's working fine! For the price unbeatable.

I ordered two of these. I was impressed by how heavy the box was. and when I opened it up I was even more impressed by the thickness of the steel. The finish looked great. I looked forward to installing them. Unfortunately I didn't measure correctly and they don't work well with my 4" aluminum siding. It was my fault, not the mailbox's fault. It seemed like a great product, but I had to return them.

The mailbox looks good. Tolerates the weather well. Difficult to install in a brick wall. It looks like it will mount flush with the wall, but if you screw it in tight enough that it doesn't move, the lid will hit the wall behind and won't open. The lid can be opened by loosening the screws, but then it wobbles against the brick wall. It was a perfect balance: screw, open, hit the wall, unscrew, open, whoops, too far. Repetition. Curse. Repetition.

I love this mailbox. I'm not sure what people are talking about hidden artboards. My husband and I screwed it into our raised bed through the raised lid on the inside and it was easy and reliable. The box is not closed and perfectly holds my gloves, trowel and wire cutters. This is definitely enough for normal mail, but the magazines would have to be folded in the middle. It's solidly built and works great. I would buy and recommend either garden tool or post.

I used this as a planter. I was thinking about what planter would fit in my space and came up with the idea of using a mailbox. Went shopping, read reviews and chose this one. There were already drainage holes in the bottom, but I just drilled holes on the inside of the lid. This box is pretty solid as I had to use a lot of pressure to pierce it all the way through. Mailboxes with pretty good quality for the money. Lasts MUCH longer than my last plastic mailboxes which literally fell apart after 7 years of use and exposure to the elements. That would be acceptable unless they cost MORE than these. I'm sure they will last a lot longer and if necessary I can repaint them in the future when they get too weathered. I bought this to replace a rusty post box that looks very similar to this product. When I received the package I noticed some differences from my rusty mailbox. Firstly, due to the way the sheet metal is cut, this product leaves about 1cm of space between the wall and the mailbox, whereas my old mailbox was flush with the wall.
