I have used this product for a month. As soon as I .

I have been using this product for a month. Once I felt the taste of rusty metal from boiled water. I unscrewed the screws under the cover and opened it up. Check out my photos. It was rusty.

  • Great price

Has stopped working after a month

I received this product at the end of June, hardly used it and it started to fail at the beginning of August. Kind of an E3 error message that I couldn't find an explanation for. When I called the company, they emailed me asking for all sorts of details and photos, then I had to pack them up to send them back. Seems to be a huge research project on my part for an unreliable device. They need to improve their experience with this product.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • is embarrassing

Hot water when you need it

I have other Zojirushi products so this might be a bit biased. The boiler is a great addition to my kitchen appliances. First, I always keep hot water at the "tap" to make tea or coffee. The capacity is huge so I don't feel the need to keep refilling. And the temperature setting means I don't light my tea. And the last best part? I no longer have to have the kettle ready to boil water! I really enjoy the simplicity of this product. The water comes out and tastes good. The downside is I don't…

Rust spots in less than a year

The quality of Zojirushi products has clearly become problematic. I have had others and they have NOT gotten that bad in such a short time. Unacceptable. ___________ Zojirushi disclaims all responsibility and claims it is "normal" even though I followed recommended cleaning methods. The representative then specifically suggested that I would be billed if I sent the boiler in for warranty service, and Zojurushi decides this is not their responsibility. I can no longer recommend Zojirushi to…

  • Excellent construction

So far so good in the long run. Best boiler

I wanted to wait a bit before checking. I used to have a well established kettle with a stainless steel tank. While the boiler worked well, the tank was always heavily scaled from my well water and was difficult to keep clean. When it finally failed, I knew I wanted to try the coated Zojirushi kettle, even though it cost almost twice as much. I was hoping there would be fewer scaling issues with the coating. After almost a year of use I can confirm that the tank does not have the same scale…

Proposition 65 requires companies to warn Californians about significant exposure to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals are found in the products that Californians buy, in their homes or workplaces, or in products that end up in the environment. By requiring this information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposure to these chemicals. Proposition 65 also prohibits California companies from…

Great buy for coffee, tea and espresso

Love this thing! I was a bit on the fence but I'm very glad I got it. It is very convenient that you can just turn to the edge of the table, pour hot water, and then wait for the tea to brew. You don't want to wait for the water to cool down for lower temperatures. I only ever pour in filtered (Brita) water, which eliminates the need to use the boil function in most cases; but I still simmer it from time to time to kill germs. Every few months or so I drain the remaining water and gently wash…

Pros
  • Combined boiler and water heater
Cons
  • Some cons

As a daily drinker of green tea and matcha, this style of hot pot is invaluable to me. Always ready to dispense water at the ideal temperature. I couldn't live without them and the Zojirushi range of boilers is one of the best out there. Made in Japan and very high quality. The interior is coated, but I'm told the coating is waterproof and doesn't leach chemicals into the water. The dispenser is a one-touch electronic pump, not a "hand pump". Super easy and convenient. I highly recommend buying

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

I had no idea how useful this could be until I bought it!

I confess I'm more than obsessed with Japanese culture and the way the Japanese do things, and when I saw that many Japanese homes have a hot water dispenser, I was fascinated . After having this car for a few months, I have no idea how I've lasted so long without it. The ability to have instant hot water for tea, coffee, ramen, or even slightly increase the water I cook on the stovetop or use to cook rice has made this appliance an invaluable tool in my kitchen, and though it's big and I…

  • coffee, tea and espresso
