I have used the Griddler several times in the few months that I have had it. It does an excellent job of heating and heating evenly. I've only had two problems so far. When cooking chicken breasts, the top platen will come off as it should so that the platen is level with the breast. However, once you lift the top plate, it doesn't snap back onto the hinge, resulting in grease or drips not getting into the grease drip tray on the back of the unit.
