Garmin 010 12530 00 Low Prof Magnetic Review

I didn't want to take the mini mount out of the ball joint to remove it so I decided to give it a try and ordered one of these. Fits exactly on the mini ball pan. Just turn it upside down. Mine is mounted on the rear glass of my Crosstrek. See fig.

This product is useless as it doesn't include all the necessary parts to actually mount the DVR on the windshield. There is no magnetic disk that sticks to the glass itself to provide a base for mounting. In its current form, this product is a paperweight.

This product was required as the original DVR did not come with the required mounting hardware. These magnetic mounts work well but I wish they would only sell the part of the magnet itself rather than buying the complete mount for each car as the camera mount itself stays on the camera and attaches to the windshield between cars via a magnet insert.

Magnetic glue sticks going crazy - make sure you know where to stick them! I put mine on in the evenings as it was starting to get dark and the next day I noticed it wasn't quite in the best spot - I couldn't take it off to reuse it so I ordered another one. I don't need a gimbal, just a magnetic mount with glue - what I don't like is that the magnetic mount and stabilizer are only sold as a set. Note. I noticed that you can use Canadian nickel if you can find a strong enough glue.

Just what you need when you have multiple vehicles. You just keep the other half hidden in case your original breaks. You need to clean the windshield. Remove the glue, stick it where you need it, then hold it for a few seconds, then the other part will come off and you will have the magnet you want. I've used this mount on two different cars but don't try to remove it on the first try. Every time I put it on the windshield and tried to remove the left magnet, everything came loose. You must apply to the windshield and leave the entire block on the windshield for (12) hours and then you can remove the magnet. In the video it looks like it might be possible to hold it there for a minute or two. NOT CORRECT!

Perfect for mounting my Garmin Dashcam 55. My first camera was stuck to my windshield for months and was still stuck. I had to get a replacement because I moved the dashcam to a different location. Removing the magnet from my windshield was easy with little effort (strong adhesive, left no residue). Keep in mind that once removed, the adhesive will likely be significantly weaker. I have a Garmin 45 DVR that uses this mount and it works great. I installed it on my last car but when I handed it in I forgot the magnet on the windshield. I ordered this replacement and (contrary to other reviews) it includes the magnet required for the windshield. Simply peel off the film from the adhesive, stick it on the windshield in the right place, press firmly for a few seconds, and then peel off the mount from the windshield.
