With so many similar products I was hesitant but glad I made the purchase. This irrigator doesn't take up much desk space and has pretty good battery life. I use it once a day for a month until I charge it. The downside is that it only comes with a USB port and you'll need a wall socket plug (but you may already have one at home from a phone charger, which will do). I have healthy gums and I take great care of my teeth. I even floss before using water floss. I had a WaterPik that was taking up too much space on my counter so I decided to give it a try. All but the lowest settings, which are too weak to do anything, hurt. I imagine it's possible to damage the gums by using the maximum setting, but I won't try. I didn't buy a portable WaterPik because you can't empty the water tank well, so it's an improvement over that. I would like to buy one that unscrews
