Does what it's supposed to, no surprises.

Ideal tool for shrink fittings. Each crimp is tight and even, the ratchet is consistent and crisp. Worth the price. You can lay Klein on her side and not notice the difference. Recommendation: sell modular jaw types separately; I don't want to spend money on the whole set.

Great tool and makes rewiring quick and easy!

Should have bought a long time ago! I rewired a 1962 Lincoln Continental and this crimping tool works great! The feature I like the most is that you can adjust the degree of crimping of the wire. It also snaps into place when crimped, making it easy to hold the connection and preventing it from falling out or rotating the wrong way. A must have if you plan to do any vehicle wiring.

Suitable for both connector types.

I took a chance based on reviews saying they work with standard cable connectors and I'm here to say they work. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the new heat shrink connectors and I had heat shrink tubing so I got them and now I'm ready for any of them. They grip and release easily, I don't know why others say they don't release easily, but just used them as is. I'm glad I finally bought another tool, it's a lot better than that old crimping tool and I've used it with 22 gauge wire and matching

An absolute must for crimping shrink connectors.

In my experience "normal" crimping tools are not suitable for heat shrink connectors (at least for cheap heat shrink connectors). one for crimping the grommet around the wire insulation. For heat shrink connectors, the first part of the die does not properly crimp the electrical connection on the wire, and the second part of the crimp die bends the uncompressed sleeve of the heat shrink connector. This tool has a standard die for crimping the electrical connections of the shrink terminals and…

Doesn't crimp securely

This crimping tool looks good, feels solid and inspires confidence. Unfortunately, it has no crimping function. It flattens the connector and squeezes the wire a bit. It requires very little effort to disconnect. You can probably agree with this result with a very low force (small diameter) connection, but I would be afraid to use a higher current connection. Also, if the wire vibrates or moves, it will break the connection fairly quickly. Pull it a little and the wire will come out. I tried…

Excellent Crimping Tool - Hand & Power Tools

There are many insulated lug crimping machines out there that look good but aren't. You really need to cut the crimped connector in half to make sure it does its job well. Using Haisstronica's crimping tools I actually cut the test terminals in half and there were no voids and it was a solid piece of metal. That's exactly what you want to see. He also crimped the insulation properly, pressing it firmly against the insulation without deforming it. In addition, the crimping tool is made of thick…

This is a crimping tool for shrink sleeves

This is the crimping tool I should have bought. I used to buy a Klein branded product as it was recommended instead of Ticonn branded pliers. This crimping tool not only crimps shrink connectors, but also correctly crimps plain insulated connectors. Specifically, I crimped 16-18 AWG wires with "red" terminals. Klein's crimping tool failed to crimp either type of connector, and both easily came loose from the wires. In addition, the compression of shrink sleeves led to damage (fracture) of the…

Not suitable for small terminals

Heisstronica has a 5.1mm wide full tooth (very good for most terminals). The Heisstronica tool did a really good job on the BLUE size compression. I cut the terminal in half and it looks like solid metal. It did a great job with any isolated terminal of this size. But with the RED heatshrink fitting, which was a high quality fitting, it worked well and would not work with any other RED sized insulated fitting. I understand it's for heat shrink tubing only, but I expected the compression part to

Are you patient and methodical?

So, for you who have never done a "bare" crimp. This will test your patience. I haven't found any instructions with this tool and trust me when I say they will be invaluable. When you purchase an insulated connector crimping tool, the tool comes pre-calibrated so you can drill into your project without packaging. It's not like this. On the left side of the tool is a set screw (careful, it's tiny) set to "I'm useless and wouldn't crush my finger if you stuck it there". After wasting a few…
