My new favorite with a caveat

Hatchbox PLA has always been reliable and durable with good looks but these matte finishes really enhance the look and make it look more professional. Matt also hides common misprints well. One caveat is that durability may not be as good as gloss (rather than matte) stock, but I may not have had a high enough extrusion temperature in a print that cracked in testing. This was printed at 200C, which is what I usually print using standard PLA. I noticed that it was stronger at 215C. This time…

I'd rather be stuck in Guantanamo than use this PLA

. Let me start with I love Hatchbox, usually the best performance pla, ok let's get to the main problems. Most 1 star reviews said I had issues but this is a warning to you. If you dare to print with this PLA and use the magnetic pad here, it will stick forever until another PLA overlaps it. Also, don't leave it outdoors for long, it will become brittle. Basically print it all out at once and regret your life after it's all done and possibly during the process. I was only able to print a few…

Persistent Clogs - 3D Printing Consumables

I've been using Hatchbox alongside other PLA filaments for years and have never had this problem. The first thing that struck me was that the recommended extruder temperature was about 30 degrees higher than previous hatchbox coils I've used, indicating something had changed in the formula. No problem, so I tried a few test prints in five degree increments from 205c to 230c to find a sweet spot. I've never found a single sweet spot. Significant underextrusion was observed at each temperature…
