Pros
- - The camera is compact and lightweight. - Excellent AF. Separately, I want to note face recognition - it works well. Overall, AF feels even more accurate than the D850, but slower, especially in low light conditions. - I really liked the 14-30 / 4 lens, which has a thread for round filters - very convenient. By the way, my set of square 150mm filters for 14-24 / 2.8 weighs over 1 kg, and often just stays at home. Now filters are always with me. - Ergonomics is excellent, the grip is comfortable, all settings are at hand. Z7 has the largest number of buttons among mirrorless cameras. - The wheel has custom modes U1, U2, U3 (I've been wondering for the seventh year why custom modes were removed from the wheel in the 800th series). - The information (additional) screen on organic light-emitting diodes does not need illumination and is well visible in any conditions, including at night. - Stabilization works great, I got a sharp handheld shot at 24mm with a shutter speed of 0.5 seconds. I believe that this is not the limit. - Excellent viewfinder. I used to dislike EVI, but they were always either brake or of poor quality. But after the Z7 it is no longer easy to return to the optical viewfinder (and the D850 has the largest and brightest viewfinder among the DSLRs). There is no need to close it with a shutter during a long exposure, there is no pentaprism and mirror in the camera, so the light through the viewfinder will not hit the matrix and will not affect the exposure. - The front and rear electronic shutters operate even when shooting through the viewfinder. In this way, you can shoot completely silently without resorting to using Live View (the D850 also has both electronic shutters, but both of them become so only when shooting through LV). - Thanks to the more powerful Expeed 6 processor, photos scroll and zoom faster. - Z7 can be charged via USB from a power bank, which is very convenient. It is desirable that the bank give out a current of 15W (5V, 3A). - Autonomy is good, one battery is almost always enough for a shooting day.
Cons
- - On the D850, I always focus in 3D tracking mode. In principle, the Z7 lacks 3D-AF, and the tracking mode implies a fully automatic selection of an object for tracking. That is, the camera decides for you where to focus, and you, if necessary, can then correct the object with the joystick. - The camera has only one slot for memory cards, and their format is XQD. I understand that these cards are considered extremely reliable, but the second slot is not only a backup (although, of course, it is very important, because the card can be lost, if not broken), but also an additional convenience. It's good to know that a second card is installed in the camera, the place for photos will not run out at the most important moment, and you can always transfer pictures from SD to a laptop, or ate the firmware. By the way, the firmware in the camera is ated only through the XQD card reader. - The new Z-series lenses do not have scales and at the same time they have an electronic focus ring. Manually focusing is not very convenient. - No backlit buttons. You get used to good things quickly.
