Needed a new can valve, got it with this kit

The last time I had to add refrigerant the can spigots were still in use. Today I discovered that new EPA regulations require refrigerant cylinders to be recapped and I needed the right valve for a self-sealing cylinder. I bought this item because not only does it offer a matching faucet, it also comes with a newer gauge and longer hose. The job was successful, the pressure gauge showed the refrigerant level at the lower tolerance limit, I put in a canister and the suction pressure normalizedโ€ฆ

Didn't work on my 1999 F-150

I have this unit with a longer hose instead of the very short hose that came with the large R134a can. I could NOT connect this long hose line to my AC's charging port and spent half a can trying to get it to work. I switched back to the short hose and it connected on the first try, but the connector is very difficult for me to access, bad back, bad eyes and the like, like an old man. I wanted to bring back this long hose fiasco but decided to save it for future trials with the F-150 and maybeโ€ฆ

Actually, I didn't have an opportunity to use the product because I couldn't force the quick connector into my low pressure port. It seems like the spring pressure is too much to push?! Or it just doesn't fit. Update: I tried my best to connect to the low pressure port and it just wouldn't snap into place. Bought an angled R134a fitting and plugged it into this charge hose and it worked great. The gauge was decent and I was able to get the 35psi pretty accurately. I still give this product 1โ€ฆ
