Reliable hardware!

Goes perfectly with my rustic furniture I'm building at my Maine campground. They are heavy and work well. It works as a latch and cabinet handle. The price is very reasonable. They probably go with any style of closet, but they have a primitive look that goes well with my work.

Pros
  • Elegant Design
Cons
  • Empty

Not a wise purchase.

The bolt that is supposed to lock the door is very short. This means the trap feet must be very close together (cannot be centered on the door). (See figure one.). Also, my carpenter had to "sink" the inside of the latch to make it work. (See figure two.)

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Other Other

Fragile, poor quality

These things look good but the quality is poor. If this bar is used frequently I would not recommend it; The "screw" that attaches the handle to the base is exceptionally weak and poorly constructed, it wobbles and wobbles. If I paid a lot more for it I would send it back, actually I could still do it because the bar is used a lot in our application and I doubt it will last 6 months.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Quality

Looks good but feels very rough. We need to sand and paint Rustoleum.

. We use them on closet doors in our bedroom. We expect them to catch anything that comes in contact with them if left in the rough state they arrived in. However, they are strong and help keep our salvaged doors closed and straight that have warped over time. We will treat them in the same way as other preserved items in our house, although they have only recently been counterfeited.

Pros
  • . An absolute legend.
Cons
  • . I vaguely remember.

Not well built. Broke after a few weeks.

They're nice and heavy. I chose them for some of the 'vintage' closet doors my husband made for me and we were very happy until the handle fell loose in my hand a few weeks later. We removed the latch to fix it but there is no way. The thing is held together by a tiny piece that literally broke off the back of the bolt handle. I don't know how to explain it. You'd think such a nice, heavy piece would be better constructed, but unfortunately it's not durable.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Upgradable
