High resolution dependent on unavailable Adobe Flash Player

This product (model RLC-520) uses Adobe Flash Player which is no longer supported and blocked by Chrome for example. This makes the higher resolution option unavailable, so it's basically garbage. Reolink website promised updated non-flash firmware by the end of 2020, but the latest firmware (December 11, 2020) still depends on Adobe Flash Player (Hardware: IPC_515B16M5M, Firmware: v3.0.0.136_20121112)

Very good image quality, easy setup

The Reolink RLC-420 was very easy to set up and delivers clear image quality day and night. I had to return and replace 1 camera due to a defective optical sensor. Free client software easy to set up on Windows PC, Android and Apple mobile devices. The client software only provides basic monitoring, alerting and playback functionality, but it is free and easy to learn. I installed this POE camera and connected it to Homeseer controlled BlueIris via Netgear POE gigabit switch and Cat 6 cabling…

Perfect for marijuana growers in the Pacific Northwest!

2 weeks to 27 years experience with commercial/industrial custom systems. So I decided to apply my knowledge in a "normal" environment. 2 days research. The total cost was less than $200 and I created a full feature under the Radarhome property "Distance Early Warning System". That means I installed twice as many devices for half the cost and no monthly fees. If you have the initiative and some knowledge, I recommend this and self-installation with "plus points" on top of that.

Great picture and good quality

I have used some cheap Chinese cameras like Vimtag and Amcrest and am very impressed with the quality and picture of Reolink compared to them. The night vision quality is fantastic. The contrast in these products was high enough that I removed all other cameras and replaced them with Reolinks. The last straw for me was that I found Chinese cameras bombarding my router with attempts to contact an unknown IP outside of my network ads and there didn't seem to be a setting to allow or disable this.

Got a direct hit from burglar scrap - kept working

Yes, he came, tried to kill him and then ran away. This POE dome camera was installed in the ceiling and he didn't see it at all. Finally realizing it was watching him, he attempted to kill the troop. I disabled everything I could find but it still worked. I'm sure he never guessed that the power came from a network cable in the ceiling that ran to the camera from another building. So he hit it with his trusty crowbar and shattered the protective glass, but it kept working. So he turned and…

Good quality at an affordable price

This is great, outdoor IP cameras were $700 10 years ago. These are good devices, I picked them up on Synology, they work great, much cheaper than my first video surveillance system ten years ago! in the center of the frame, but the outer peripheral view is still poorly lit. If you install them directly in inclement weather, you'll get nothing but StarWars flares from IR LEDs bouncing off the rain. Installing under the eaves on the ceiling allows you to get better shots. A NOTICE. This RLC-420…
