does its job - exhaust and emissions

product works well. to cover turbo oil lines that run directly through the exhaust manifold. If there is a lot of fiberglass floating around after installation, wear gloves and a respirator.

Pros
  • heat shields
Cons
  • unreliable

Really good heat shield material

Worked better than anything I've tried on a 1966 Chevelle fuel line. It did a great job of eliminating vapor locks and is much easier to install than sleeve type insulation.

Cannot withstand contact with high temperatures.

This shield will work but will not withstand direct contact with exhaust fumes. One part touched my exhaust, and the shiny metal was caked with fiberglass. Then the fiberglass charred. Good product but does not tolerate direct heat. product update. Please see the attached photos of this shield near the exhaust. Notice how the foil is completely burned. The fiberglass holds up. When installing, make sure that it does not come into contact with the exhaust pipe.

Difficult to work with, poor quality. NOT IMPRESSED!

Extremely difficult to work on unless what you are covering is perfectly straight. The stitching is pathetic, be very careful if you have to change the position of the velcro as the stitching stretches instantly. I ended up having to use metal tape (like those used in HVAC systems) to hold it together. I shut off the heat bypass pipe going to the EGR on my 90's Ranger, it has a few kinks and is VERY difficult to shut off.

Pros
  • Exhaust and Emissions
Cons
  • Older model
