can be very frustrating

I've made about 10 cables with it now. I think the problem is with the RJ45 connectors. I would say that on average I had a 50% success rate. Gold pins sometimes bend a little, and it often happens that they slide too far away from the cable, allowing the conductor to pass. The connectors also generally don't hold the cable well, so even if they work, they might not last very long. What really frustrates me is that I've already done each side twice and it still doesn't work. I'll buy betterโ€ฆ

Crimping tool works fine but the cable tester shown in the photo is not the cable tester that I received. The picture on the product and even the instructions I received for the cable tester refer to the NS-468 which describes the need for a 9V battery, but the model received is the CH-178 which comes with 2 AAA batteries seems to work. I searched the internet for this Ubigear tester model and couldn't find any instructions. When I turn on the tester with AAA batteries, the ground indicatorโ€ฆ

design flaw. for hand tools

I am a contractor working with several defense contractors. Safety is paramount when working in these manufacturing facilities. In the event of an accident or injury, an OSHA report, etc. is required, which is a big problem. They can easily be thrown for any kind of injury or accident. I've been doing this for 19 years - without incident or injury. I used this device in a project. I reached for my tool belt to grab something near this device but my finger stuck right between my two hands andโ€ฆ

Great product, works as advertised

I have a small wiring project (<10 connections). I read all the negative reviews and checked my new crimping tool for reported defects as soon as I received it. Problem 1, Crimp die does not match pins in connector - incorrect. Works perfectly. Problem 2: There is no instruction included. That's why we have Google. Also, a comment I read referred to a wire stripper. (Dude if you can't figure it out without instructions, stay away from tools entirely.) Problem 3: Can't figure out whichโ€ฆ

and the stripping tool works great. Three stars because of the tester

Crimping pliers, RJ45 plugs and stripping pliers work great. I give three stars because of the tester. The instructions say to use a standard 9V battery, as does all the people who have answered questions here at Revain. I open the battery compartment and lo and behold it's pretty obvious that this device (it seems) works with 2 AAA batteries (side by side with opposite polarity like any other device that uses 2 AAA batteries). 9V wouldn't fit in space even if it had to go there. Didn't give me any usable connections

Let me start by saying that I have used many different types of crimping tools on many different connectors. Both for the automotive and for the industrial sector, additionally with several RJ11 connections (telephone). I'm usually good at crimping even relatively small connectors (I recently made some really tiny JST connectors on an interface harness), so I wasn't expecting much. Problem with this RJ45 kit. Well I was wrong. I read the directions on the box and it turned out to be prettyโ€ฆ

Satisfied enough with amateur rating

I got the Crimper315 kit a few years ago when I started tearing up the walls upstairs in hopes that one day I could run the cables through the attic and up the walls were connected to the . some. Now, a few years later, I pull out and shrug off this kit and sit down to re-educate myself about why I bought this stuff and how I should use it to connect to an Ethernet network . I was very relieved to find that this kit has almost all the tools I need. The tester was very easy to use. This allowedโ€ฆ

Good crimping tool, useless wire stripper

I bought a UbiGear Crimp 315. I had never crimped Cat5e before so I had to learn. Luckily I have a brother with experience. The yellow wire stripper is useless. When I used it to strip Cat5e cables, it cut 1 or more wires under the outer shield. So I used a small pair of scissors to cut from the end to the length I wanted, then around the cable to get to the wires underneath. I made the mistake of stripping individual wires before inserting them into the terminal; not necessarily. However, theโ€ฆ
