The acceleration response is a bit slow.

This works very well. I have another brand on my Harley and the sensor reacts immediately. The VDO Speed Sender tends to lag behind when accelerating when used on the VDO Millennium Tacho, but other than that annoying feature it is easy to install and works very well. This simplified the complex calibration process.

Worked great! good for gauges

I had a heart rate sensor on the rear CV joint and it seemed to work fine but once I hit 70mph the speedo went haywire at times and didn't read speed appropriately. I couldn't fix this problem. I decided after doing a lot of research on how well the GPS unit would work and where there were good mounting points, I found that the fiberglass was out of the way and I had a fiberglass hood. So I installed it under the hood, connected it directly to the speedometer and programmed the speedometerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Made in the Netherlands
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Easy to connect, works perfectly.

As others have noted, no instructions are included. I called the VDO Techline and they were very helpful! Explains how to connect the module. In my case I'm using a VDO programmable speedometer, the red wire goes to 12 volts positive, the green wire goes to pin #8 on the speedometer, and the white and black wires combine and connect to ground. I programmed the heart rate setting on the speedometer to 200,000 and it worked great. I tested it in the MPH app on my phone and it certainly works!

Worked great! best in speedos

I had a heart rate sensor on the rear CV joint and it seemed to work fine, but once I hit 70mph the speedometer regularly went haywire and didn't show anything to match the speed. I couldn't fix this problem. I decided after much research into how well the GPS unit would work and where there were good mounting points, I found that the fiberglass was out of the way and I had a fiberglass hood. So I installed it under the hood, connected it directly to the speedometer and programmed theโ€ฆ

Really TERRIBLE guide.

Finally the block worked. VDO did not help. It seems they don't care. The device comes with no instructions and it took a long time to find them online. Once you finally find the instructions, they apply to a number of uses. So you need to figure out which ones you're using, and then figure out what instructions you need. Another problem was that I contacted VDO because my old speedometer had finally given up the ghost after about 25 years. They don't do my old speedometer. When I contacted VDO

Pros
  • Speedometer
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
