Amazing blur! for lenses

Received it today and I LOVE it! My 4 month old was a bit difficult to photograph tonight as he was tired and acting up. But the transition from a whale lens to this one is a sacred request! It's an insane difference! Also, the photo quality might be a little shaky as I'm still learning. Update: I still love this lens. That's great! Highly recommended for those who cannot afford a more expensive one at the moment. Damn I would recommend it to anyone who can!

Decent lens, great price

Surprisingly good lens. I bought this to photograph pets at an animal shelter where the lighting is poor, but I didn't want to use a flash. Autofocus locks in surprisingly quickly with my D750, even wide open in low light. I was expecting it to hunt a bit, especially as I'm shooting wavy subjects. It's pretty sharp, although I wouldn't use it for artistic photos, but it does a great job on hair and mustache photography. The minimum focus distance is short enough that I can reach out and…

Dear baby Jesus! - Lenses

Unboxing; Well, I doubted the wisdom of this purchase because of all the YouTube reviews of the Canon version: zoom issues, noisy autofocus motor, and more. But I have a Nikon d3400, I must have gotten a new version because my SILENT AS A CHURCH MOUSE auto focus works like a charm in the viewfinder and in real time. In a few days I will give my official review with photos. The only thing I wished for was 85mm for Nikon. TO UPDATE. After unpacking, I was able to take this lens with me for a…

Mediocre in every way

Although many reviews say it's a great alternative to the kit lens I'm not so sure having compared it to it. After testing this lens in many situations with a Nikon D600 full frame camera and a D7200 crop camera, I didn't find anything special about this lens other than good bokeh. I didn't really feel like the D7200 was superior to an unused kit lens I dug out of the closet (Nikkor 55-200 set to 80mm equivalent focal length) in terms of sharpness at any aperture, and the Autofocus wasn't as…

Works perfectly! About camera lenses

No photographic slang is used in this review. I'm definitely a hobbyist and just want to be able to take nice sharp pictures and I needed a lens that works well in low light and produces some pretty blurry backgrounds. It does the job! It's a pretty crude camera mount compared to my Nikon branded lenses that originally came with my camera, but at this price point I don't mind. It fits perfectly and is not difficult to use at all. I immediately tried it on a vase of faux flowers in the foyer…

I love this Nifty Fifty!

This lens works great with my Nikon D3400 while learning photography. It was a great price, living up to my "I don't spend more than $125 on a lens." Rule. It's lightweight, easy to use, and when I compare some of the images it took to some of the 'professional' images I see in magazines and on the internet, I find it to be a perfect match. I'm sure people will say this is not a high end lens. , but if the pictures are good I don't know why it matters. I would buy more Yongnuo lenses, in fact I

Yongnuo 50mm for DX portraits

I shoot with a cropped sensor camera on a Nikon D5300 DX. Not a fan of zooms. it never was My main lens for the D5300 is Nikon 35 1.8. That's "fancy fifty bucks" for the FX, 70mm for the crop. For portraits I have a rarely used Rokenon 85 f 1.4. Dreamy, great bokeh, but big, heavy and manual focus. Its 130th focal length takes up a lot of space. I was inclined to buy a Nikon 50mm but couldn't justify the cost of a portrait lens for casual amateur use. Also, 50mm is 70mm on the crop, Kimda has…

Better than expected performance

I'll start this review with my experience and why it should matter to you. Filmed for 34 years, studied on film/manual lenses. From time to time I worked professionally. That's it. I'm not new to a)l. This lens has to be one of the best deals I know of. So for comparison (on the same level) you have a Nikon 50 1.8D for $135-$150 new. These are Nikons (older model) 1.8. Or you can buy 1.8G new for about $250-$300. Both lenses are good. They are sharp, render well, have very good shallow depth of
