I ordered this set of 2 to have a water thermometer and a bath thermometer for my turtle. I opened it up and put the batteries in and one works fine; the other just shows the letter L where the temperature should be. I don't want to return both as I need to monitor the water temp so I think I ended up getting one for the price of two. The simplicity of these thermometers is nice, with a switch to choose between F and C and a good sized easy to read digital display . I've only been using them for a few hours and when I first set them up in a 55 gallon tank that was about 3/4 full, they read within 1 degree of each other on opposite ends of the tank (about 4 feet apart away). .
