My way to the labeller

I have several of these in my office. I've been using this printer for several years now with no problems. I definitely recommend it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Nothing

Love it but comes with large labels

I have one at work and love it. I plan to use it to label some odds and ends and shelves around the house as well as file folders in my home office. It came with larger shipping labels than smaller address labels so I'm disappointed that I have to buy more labels right away. Love the feature you can just copy and paste from your computer.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Easy installation, pathetic documentation, disappointing

Installation is easy - quick start guide is good. However, trying to do something that is NOT documented in the "quick start" instructions requires a lot of trial and error and is VERY frustrating. Much of the online documentation is inaccurate or simply missing. If I ever figure it all out for myself, I'll probably like this printer. Being able to print individual labels instead of entire sheets is very convenient. but it's a big "if". Who has that much time?

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Very expensive

So far it's been good for me (UPDATED REVIEW)

I've had Smart Label Printer for over a year now and haven't had the software issues others have reported. I'm using a Macintosh, I don't know what other reviewers are using (and I don't want to start a religious war over the OS platform!). Didn't encounter the slant that the other reviewer mentioned. So far I have found the printer reliable. He does what I ask of him. There are no complaints yet. UPDATE 11/28/2012 I downgraded my rating from four to one star because the 420 is not compatible…

Consistently Inconsistent

This label printer is sometimes inconsistent and annoying. Loading labels isn't too difficult, but even if you're very careful with alignment, the printer will gradually offset them with each label printed until the labels are all the way to one side of the printer. The only situation where this won't matter is when you're using it to print labels that span the full width of the printer. At my company, we use labels that are about half the size of addresses, so I often run into this…

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Concise Instructions

Decent label printer

My workplace uses Seiko 420 and 450 label printers to print address labels and Code 39 barcodes at the maximum height supported by the printer (i.e. small 1.13" x 3.5" addressable labels ), also with roll guide labels. When the printer is in a vertical position, the output tends to either skew to one side of the label or print outside the physical edges of the label. Our solution to this problem is to turn the printer on its side. This usually helps keep the output straight. The SLP 450 seems…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Everything is fine
