Review on πŸ–₯️ Dell S2417DG Monitor: Enhanced 24 Inch Display with 60Hz Response Rate by Anthoni Musil

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent for the price

EDIT 6/26/2020 Okay. For those interested in durability and reliability, I bought it almost two years ago. Sure, I tend to obsessively about my stuff, but the monitor is still in perfect condition. There are no dead pixels, scratches, or anything else that might indicate wear. I was concerned about the quality because it was an old model back in 2016, but not worth it that much since it's free. It was a high-end monitor for its time, and it shows. I love this monitor. It was a great pairing with my PC. New image attached. The monitor is in excellent condition, although it was probably very old. It takes a lot of tweaking and trial and error, but once you get it right, it's a fantastic gaming monitor. I suggest also visiting the Nvidia forum to set up Gsync properly. It's not so easy to just turn it on.----------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -------- -------------------------------------------------------- - ---------------- --------------------------------- - ------------------------ ----------Good. It was a very difficult decision to take this monitor or not. You will NEVER find a 1440p 165Hz G-Sync gaming monitor at this price. Basically, I bought this monitor to experience resolutions above 1080p and finally get a taste of G-Sync. These two things definitely exceeded my expectations. 1440p isn't really that different from 1080p, but you'll notice it. It's crystal clear and some details stand out compared to 1080p. Speaking of G-Sync. This is the absolute way to play the game! breathtaking. ZERO tearing, ZERO stuttering and ZERO input lag. You won't play any differently once you experience it. Now to the monitor. I mean it's a good monitor and it's well built. The looks may not appeal to many as it really looks like an office monitor. It compares quite well to my ASUS vg248qe. But in the end it's superfluous. This monitor is not the best when it comes to colors. It actually took me no more than two minutes to set it up, compared to other users reporting two days of fiddling and changing settings. Colors look boring. There's no saturation and the gamma is a little odd. Ghosting and inverted pixels are terribly noticeable when the response time is set to "Fast". I had to switch it to "Normal". Another thing that bothered me as soon as I received the package was how old and worn the box looked. This machine was sold as new but has definitely been used before. There was dust on the back and a few scratches at the attachment point. this monitor was at least used as a display at some point. However, I'm willing to ignore it as at least it still had the protective plastic on it which tells me it hasn't been used all that long. But mostly because of the price. All in all, I'm just impressed with the G-Sync functionality and the 1440p resolution.
