Review on S27A950D 27" Samsung Monitor: Full HD, 3D Display, LS27A950DS/ZA by James Terry

Hey guys, I'm one of those guys who will spare no expense to have the best. I used 2 LCDs at 120Hz which were 23 inch Apple Cinema Displays and a Dell Ultrasharp IPS Panel Display. I play games and I'm a programmer so I spend a lot of time on my PC and my eyesight is 20/10 so I have a good eye for a good display. I was initially skeptical about buying a $700 display that was only 1080p (especially without seeing it in person), but I'm SO glad I did. I sincerely believe I will never have to upgrade again with this monitor. But here's the rub: I didn't buy it for 3D. In my opinion, ALL consumer 3D products are terrible. They look like crap because of the games and movies they look bad and don't work well and most importantly my head hurts after a few minutes. I bought this display for the following reasons: 1) 120Hz! All moves in games are AMAZING. Monitor at 60 Hz. Period. All . clear, smooth and realistic. A++ for gaming performance! 2) Glossy display - I LOVE glossy displays for continued growth and color, but most 120Hz "3D" monitors are matte (because they've figured out what's best for 3D). The gloss is nice and not blinding even in a well-lit room. and 3) looks! WOW this is beautiful. I'm a Mac fanatic and have many friends who are interested in high-performance hardware. Every time people come they look at my table and say "WOW! Is that your monitor!?” because it is so beautiful. It's real brushed aluminum and very thin. He is elegant and handsome. The picture quality is AMAZING, it's very bright but the contrast is perfect - black on white is very sharp (unlike most monitors of this brightness). Movement, functions, menus. the whole set is great. size just right. It's HUGE, but not so big that you have to move your head around and miss things in games that aren't in your peripheral vision. Seriously guys. If you are a gamer and have a good enough computer to hit 120 fps in games, BUY IT! There's no comparison when it comes to true 120Hz gaming and it really can't be beat.
