I used this for a countertop in a utility room/office. I removed the 1980's laminate top to reveal chipboard/MDF or whatever was underneath. I didn't sand or prep the countertops, I just wiped them down. I applied two thin coats of Ardex top coat and allowed about 10 hours to dry between coats. In short, we used Ardex Feather Finish to encapsulate the leftover diluted material (mastic, glue, etc.) on the concrete left over from the asbestos tiles in our basement. And it worked great!
