Melted into Computer Accessories & Peripherals

July 2019 I am updating my original review from October 2018 which I am leaving as is below and giving 5 stars. Today I walked into my home office and the air was filled with the pungent smell of burning electrical equipment. It turned out to be an Elecjet power supply. It was very hot to the touch and the area near the cable exit of the device was slightly deformed due to the heat. The device has worked perfectly up to this point, however I can no longer recommend it due to the risk of fire…

not compatible with computers and accessories

The following issues were encountered when using this product with a 2018 MacBook Pro (13"): * The (small) connector to connect to Magsafe (2) is no longer balanced. Only plugs in one orientation, not two.* (small) green charging light on magsafe stopped working even though laptop shows charging* (large) charges very slowly, possibly not even full mac. I've had one permanently plugged in since last night and the MBP is now showing a 53% charge. , Apple) Brick Charging for a different, same…

Works for me - solve heating problems.

So the reviews scared me a little. I have to say that anything that says "new version [of the current year]" here falls on weary eyes. But you're reading this because, honestly, there aren't many options for this product. The quality seems to be good. Continuous. this is metal I used it for the L-magsafe1 that sits on top of my Apple Cinema display to basically charge my phone. I have too many cables so this is a good way to use this permanent cable as I don't use any Apple products (other than

  • Useless features

I originally gave this 1 star and returned the product with a rather scathing review stating that this adapter had overheated and stopped working after 20 minutes, but after ELECJET contacted me immediately to apologize and talk about it. In my experience they told me that they are working on an updated design that will solve the power supply issue. They refunded my money, still gave me a free product of my choice to review as promised, and later sent me an updated replacement product for free…

Great as long as you don't move it.

This is a really good option if like me you have multiple Magsafe power supplies. I've had so many MacBook Pros over the years that I've amassed a large collection of power adapters and got used to leaving power adapters where I might need them. I keep one in my backpack, one in my home office, one in my living room, one in my studio and one in my DJ gig bag. So if I took my work computer home to work remotely, I would just turn it off and leave it on at the office and throw the laptop in my…

Fully Charged 15 " MacBook with Thunderbolt Display

I was an early adopter of the Apple Thunderbolt Display. My mid-2011 MacBook Air was still running great this year, but I stumbled upon an offer I couldn't refuse and upgraded to a 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro. 5k, USB-C display. However, I have some problems when choosing a display. It seems like every option had trade-offs. Do I have to spend millions of dollars or should I sacrifice some features like display quality, built-in USB/Thunderbolt hub, built-in camera microphone and speakers or even…
